Moved Doku to the left and put Bernardo on the right

Then never passed to Doku but to Bernardo who let’s be honest is never beating a player, he passed backwards most of the time

I actually thought that with the space in the middle that it was an ideal game for Kovacic to start. Probably in place of Bernardo. They were allowing us space in the middle where our effectiveness has severely lacked all season and doubling up on the wingers instead.

The biggest alarm for me was the way we conceded. Allowing Williams all that space to be able to play that ball. There's 4 around him who could have at least tried to make it difficult. That ball doesn't even leave his foot in past years when we had an effective press. Now we have players who dawdle back and are conceding dreadful goals every week. And that's before I mention the defending and goalkeeping.....

A point would have been a decent result yesterday. We don't even have the ability to maintain that and shut up shop a little bit to limit the damage to the table.

A shocker overall.

Didn't feel a thing at the full time whistle and that sums up our season.

We have played a million times worse and we looked more solid than normal. From an attacking point of view though it was pathetic. Players and Pep to be blamed for it. I am bored to tears watching how slow we build an attack up, allowing a solid side to get into a comfortable shape, and then wonder why we have to settle for corners or blocked shots. It is plain as day to see. We don't have a peak KDB who can thread an eye of the needle pass to combat them solid defences. We had to be clinical and attacking yesterday, the way the game went was zero surprise. They have the lowest possession in the league, we have the most. So we had to do something with that possession and offered absolutely fuck all and that is criminal. You genuinely wonder what they work on all week.

I don't know what Foden and Bernardo has on Pep but his refusal to leave such players out currently is harming our team.

The ‘discussion’ Dias had with Pep about the high line looks like the players don’t agree with it. If we have players not happy with the tactics, we are going to get players confused and not happy about their role. What was the point of buying Marmoush and paying that amount of money if you are not going to integrate him. I thought we were containing them well yesterday, and then we take off a player in a position we needed to make the system work. I don’t buy the yellow card, it was a poor decision. Most called it out at the time saying this won’t end well. The Club World Cup won’t give us any time to work on tactics pre-season, so next season is going to be interesting. Just hope we move away from this side to side and backwards passing it’s just so poor to watch. We need three points on Saturday, so Pep let’s just go for it!!

Before the subs we were comfortable but providng little as a threat, after we were exposed in the centre, Dias pushes up to compensate and Gvardiol drifts more central which left the gap.

All season the main issue is we had no DM now we do you don't take him off in the last 20 mins for players with no legs

Kova for berny yes, mamoush for foden ok, but removing savio and nico was daft

We could turn into a brilliant counter attacking team, we certainly have the players with the ability to do that, this would nullify about 90% of the premier league teams, they don’t have the players to break down our team if we play that way, the same as we don’t with them. It woukd screw up all their tactics against us and when you have our front four running at you I don’t think they could cope. Unless Pep can find a new KDB or even better a David Silva his tic tac system is dead and buried now, it was great when teams couldn’t cope but now they all can.

I’d have Oreilly grealish even nunes before him. Can’t track a runner.

We needed desperately for someone to be in the front foot and carry the ball forward in midfield with some pace. The irony is, I think that player could have been Nunes, rather than playing him (as ever) out of position at the back.

Nunez loses the ball all the time. He seems to overhit all his passes. I agree we needed someone to drive forward alongside Nico but I thought Foden would do it.

Our spine has been either injured or aged to the point of being easily caught out.

Fodens form is a mystery but withit being eratic it leaves us with no effective attacking central midfielder

We have youth and have bought youth, we need to use them, O'Rielly playing behind haaland in the 8 over foden/gundo/berny should be tried

There’s no sentiment in football, we are a better team going forward without Bernardo. He’s killing us !! Marmoush was making runs to go in behind and didn’t pick him out once.
Would rather see overlapping fullbacks in support creating overloads . Most goals are scored from crosses. This fullbacks into midfield prevents this. It’s since this tactic we’ve struggled, okay a centre half stepping in sometimes, but we need fullbacks higher up the pitch.

Agreed We used to use David Silva on the corner of the box a lot to release the winger or full back to get to the bye line and cross for a tap in. KdB similar on the right. Teams wiser now plus less quality from City.

I can go with Gvardiol not being the best one on one. But watching Doku jogging slowly back is criminal. Especially knowing that.

We DON'T defend as a team.

I think we've bought too many "potentials" and not enough "ready mades".

We DON'T or refuse play to our strengths.

We have one way of playing, and its fooking painful.

And we have players that are mentally still in 2018 City ball.
