We can definitely win it. I dont think Forest are anywhere close to being the 3rd best side in the league to be honest, i just think they've been relatively consistent and remained relatively injury free and are benefitting from other clubs not having that. I think the likes of Newcastle, Villa and Brighton are better teams. Fair play to them though, theyre making the most of it.

I can't make the call on how the game will pan out until I've seen the lineup and seen 5-10 minutes to know how pep is going to set us up. Its all on him for me.

If we let Forests wingers get at what will be a bit of a makeshift defence and isolate pur fullbacks, that's going to be very dangerous, voth as a goal threat and as a supply line as Wood will dominate khusanov/dias aerially. we also cannot play the slow stuff on the ball like we did against plymouth, Forest are extremely comfortable not having the ball, they'll sit in against that kind of football all day, we need to hit them with speed and catch them before they can set themselves.
They are well organised, hard working and quick.....but nothing special.

They've been 'rumbled' a bit since Xmas and their results and performances have been a bit so so.

It's an eminently winnable game !!

It's been a poor season for most teams which is why they are where they are in the table. Winning 6 in a row before their draw with the dippers took them right up the table but they've won 2 of their last 7. We should be winning this game and if we do it piles the pressure on them.

I agree.

Even if they do get a result against us, Forest won't last the rest of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop to 6th or 7th by April.

You cannot expect the caliber of player they currently have to play as well as they did in the first half of the season for a full season.

Folk were saying the same thing when they won the league in the late 70s!

Different era though mate. They also had Brian Clough as manager and had title winners from his Derby side in that team.

What many forget as well, Forest were amongst Europe's biggest spenders in the late 70s, even when they were promoted.

I think only United spent more in 77 and 78

Not going to knock it like, unreal and unfathomable achievement, but this current Forest team is not a Europa League level team let alone Champions League.

Yeah I would expect it to go that way. If you look at the form table for the last 5 games it's ridiculous. You'd usually expect to see 2-3 teams having won all 5, a couple with maybe 3-4 wins and a draw. Instead it's all over the place! You've got teams in 11th, 12th, 13th and 16th having picked up more points over the last 5 than teams in 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th!

Chelsea, Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton and Fulham are too inconsistent and too inexperienced to maintain a challenge. Maybe they manage it, you never know, but I'm not too concerned.

Villa and Newcastle are the bigger threats, but as 3rd is within reach and 4th and 5th should also be a CL place I'm pretty comfortable with where we are.

We'll find out next season about the Europa league ..and whose in it...

Progress in the fa cup may well affect their league position with injuries / fatigue
But the fact they don't seek to control possession and conduct lighting quick counter attacks will be in their favour

Going back to their late 70s promoted squad, and yes it was a different era but they beat the champion of England Evertoat goodison park on the opening day of the season( a massive shock ) with John Middleton in goal,Viv Anderson at right back, whose only previous club was local amateur level Clifton all whites, city reject Ian bowyer ,work a day striker Peter withe ,youth team graduate tony woodcock, former lazy reserve team slob John Robertson,Coventry city reject Larry Lloyd ,Birmingham city striker Kenny burns made into a centre half former Newcastle left back frank clark,Martin o Neil who was nothing special ,...iirc only midfield enforcers McGovern and Archie gemmill had tasted success before....,granted the chequebook came out with Pete shilton and others ,after the start of the season ,

I forgot about John o hare another derby title winner tho he was irc more of a sub/ squad player

I agree forest spent a lot of cash once they were up,shilton becoming the most expensive keeper in the world,a few matches into the season...
Trevor Francis joined the season after of course

My point is it was not until forest smashed high spending utd 4nil at old trafford in December that most people sat up and took notice.,,...and took them seriously
Of that team ,you would only say shilton and by then Robertson were top class players who stood out....the rest made their reputations as the season unfolded...pretty much how I see a lot of the current forest first team now.

Chris woods was a laughing stock amongst forest fans ,nobody is s laughing now...play to a players strengths and have a manager who believes in you....

United spent more? No way. They don’t spend money to buy success do they? Never have, never will….Nited Way!

Thanks for that little trip down history lane.

The blue phoenix is rising from the ashes of a burnt season. We're on the rise, guys - incredible young players are coming to the fore, with Rodri not far behind. Exciting times are just round the corner again.
And the excitement about continuing to bring in young players who are hungry in the summer.
