This team just arent that good....the reason we are still close is cause the league in terms of quality is pretty poor this season
Our style of football is now built on control with little to no creativity....

We are no longer getting the best out of Haaland....we create very little in terms of chances for him at all. This box formation we have to fit Semenyo and Haaland into the team isnt very good....solid most of the time but turgid and stale going forward...Semenyo cant play wide either by the looks of it....or Pep wont play him wide....not sure which

Combine that with players who just arent as good as everyone thinks (so no depth off the bench)....

We have too many single moment players who are not consistent throughout the match...Semenyo, Reijnders, Cherki being 3 big ones....They have moments of brilliance or scoring a goal but do nothing for the rest of the match....Dias at the back is also inconsistent.
Foden underperforming as well (but again the formation isnt helping him)
Fullbacks who dont stop crosses - again tonight with the first goal.

No natural width is also killing us....our fullbacks are supposed to create that but dont often enough.

Loads of possession but doing very little with it

Foden deserves criticism, but the number of fans who blame our players for a subsequent counter-attack goal, today Phil, when they lose the ball at or in the opposition box makes zero sense.

Their second goal specifically, they had the ball for a rare spell of possession long after Phil lost it, not to mention, it was a hospital pass by Cherki to him, anyway.

Idk why Semenyo didn't just take the card and foul them on their first goal, too,

Still think we're in with a good shout, game against them and a game in hand, we probs have a draw or two left in us, but so have they. Shit we dropped points at home to a pretty shite Forest, of course, but always throwing the towel in if a game doesn't go our way is getting a bit tiresome.

Pep. Why the fuck did you start Foden? Ok,you started Foden, it clearly wasn't working, so why the fuck didn't you take him off at half time? The guys confidence is zero yet Pep keeps with him. Erling can take a look at himself too, again looking laboured and not in synch with the team. Ref again was a fuckin disgrace! 99.99% of play yet they let a poor team score 2 out of nothing. What the fuckbis being said at half time? Absolutely gutted!

To be fair I was never in that camp. We're just too fragile and we're still not a fluid team. We're carrying a few players as well - our bench isn't that strong.

Foden should never start a game for the rest of the season. He's bloody awful.

Rodri was quite bad tonight as well.

Absolutely stunned at taking Cherki off for Savinho.

Both Forest goals were better than ours.

In fairness Savinho was excellent when he came on

If the officials did their jobs we win that game 4-2 and everyone praises a solid performance in a title run in against a team fighting for their lives. No desperation about it. 2 clear penalties denied

Firstly the title is not lost - Arsenal have looked a bit wobbly for a few games - we beat them and I think they will lose another game which could let us in.

Onto tonight this was a game where you could see as clear as day what the team lacks - put Nico O in instead of Foden and we win it. The times we lost 50/50's is alarming and if you want your creative players to do their work you need to have someone who can win the battle in the middle. The pivot of Rodri and Bernie is fine but it was noticeable especially from Rodders that he doesn't trust Phil - why..because when he got on the ball Foden just moved towards him, bringing in more players into the space we need to open up. It is a simple thing but key to us being at our best. Nico on the other hand moves away and that opens up space and time. Phil is in a bad place and is hurting the team.

As for Savinho subbed on to win us the game it actually made us very narrow which is crazy when you bring him on to stand out wide - but his first thought without the ball was to not engage their defenders. Sure he did get to the byline once and that was good but is it enough when you are chasing the game. Doku looked rusty and I think it would have been best to just keep Cherki on with Doku as the only wide guy - we needed those passes through the lines late on.

Onto the next one and the less I think of the ref the better. Chin up blues we can sill do this.

Although I don't think that any of the 'penalties' should have been given - such incidents are what the referees are waiting for in united games to help them on their way.

Explain how Haaland is not a textbook penalty. Does Sels make contact and clip Haaland to cause him to fall as he recklessly rushes out of his goal?

It’s a penalty 100% of the time. I would have made the argument that if you wrestle someone to the ground but they’re no way near the ball, it’s still a penalty, but Arsenal have gotten away with 4 or 5 of them in the past few weeks.
