I’ll get pelters for saying this but I’m not buying the bronchitis line for a second.

Something is up, and whatever it is, I hope he gets over it asap.

Read earlier in the thread, he had Covid early on in the season and it could have left him with chest problems or Long Covid even. I had pneumonia after Covid and was admitted to hospital so he could have bronchitis or something more. :-)

Plus as someone else said, he has 3 young children. They pick up every bug going in school. :-)

Would have preferred Gundonon the bench and Wright getting an opportunity to start in the middle. But maybe too much of a ask.

Obviously I'm not Phil and don't know his personal situation, but I had pneumonia earlier this year and since the weather turned cold I've been struggling with asthma-like symptoms due to some lung scarring. So I think it's feasible to have had covid or similar, have partly or completely recovered, and now be facing a set-back.

So sad for him. I hope it isn’t the case. I know people whose lives were really adversely impacted by long COVID and wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

If I recall, during COVID protocols he didn't seem to travel much abroad and the rumours were he wasn't vaccinated. Would explain why it affects him more & longer
