Nottm Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Gvardiol and O'Reilly were left 2 against 3, not at fault.
Defender had to attack the danger, not watch it develop in front of him.

He may not have been at fault for the ball getting to the man, but was neither here nor there after it did!

You could argue that Nunes was at fault for the goal, stood off the player which enabled him to get the ball into the middle.

You could psycho-analyse every movement that didn't go our way but the name of the game is to score more than them. We did, we're top, we have the best goal difference and we're on the right course, that's all that matters. Stop whinging and enjoy.
Whinging?! Haha! Carry on…

That City winner: So let’s pick through the bones of that City winner to see if Nottingham Forest had any right to feel aggrieved with it being allowed. As the ball arced towards and beyond the far post on to the head of Gvardiol, Morgan Gibbs-White went to ground near the upright, apparently having been fouled by Nico O’Reilly.

He wasn’t, is the short version. Looking at replays, it seems to me that as the ball was in the air, Gibbs-White backed into O’Reilly, who didn’t yield an inch, prompting the Forest No10 to go to ground. He wasn’t playacting, he just lost his balance. By the time Rayan Cherki struck his shot goalwards, Gibbs-White was back on his feet and the ball went through his legs.

Funnily enough, if he’d just stayed on the ground, he might even have blocked the shot. Any talk that he was wrestled to the ground by O’Reilly seems spurious – at worst, the City defender leaned into Gibbs-White.

If we were diving all game and did it again in the corner and he didn't blow and allowed their goal, yes I would've had no complaints, I would've blamed the players for being diving gits.
The player was fowled because his team mates dived earlier in the game and your still sure there is not even the tiniest blue tint in your glasses?
So neutrals for example would completely agree with your view of the refs performance?

No, and yes they would if they were fair.
