Nottm Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Good Lad,unlike bloody Lescott who doesnt defend City one iota ,even the Granny shagger agreed there was fuck all wrong with Oreillys challenge.
One thing with the RedTops, their mouthpiece pundits are all bloody biased and we get woodentop Lescott !
What is wrong with Lescott he never ever defends us as a pundit.

Didn't the rags play in a grey kit at one point, and were losing a match in the 90s if I remember, and the players were complaining that they couldn't see each other, so they binned the kit between halves and their performance improved and they won the match.
Could be a bit of psychology to deflect, but remember reading that somewhere.
No they binned the kit but still got hammered by Southampton that day.

Gutsy and gritty performance by the lads - we dominated every statistic - possession, shots, shots on target - and yet MOTD's highlights are edited to show a game with the illusion of Forest matching us in every department. Btw, I have no problem with Forest - I'm swayed by the Clough genius that put the old entitled cartel noses out of joint by winning two European Cups in successive years with a team of waifs and strays - apart from two marquee signings. Mind blowing actually.
As Cloughie always used to say: Look after your broom.

Dyche is a tit. Have you ever heard him lose a game without moaning about the officials? Remember when we took a quick free kick and scored against Burnley? Dyche said it should have been disallowed because his player hadn’t retreated 10 yards from the taker. He is such a victim he ought to be made an honorary scouser.

Rooney's review on MOTD of the foul on O'Reilly by Gibbs-White has made Dyche look stupid. The amount of foul play at set-pieces is out of control.

I was elated by this win, and thought that City played a better game than most people have described. Forest played their counter-attacking game very well.

In 3 weeks, Forest play Arsenal at the City ground and I think Arsenal will struggle to beat them. The circumstances will not be quite the same though because Forest were fired up by the passing of Robertson.

Was sat in the Forest end, quite near the City fans and had an amazing view for both our goals. Thought the City fans were brilliant, although not quite as loud as in 2024 when I was sat in the same seats.

Thought we deserved the win and showed a lot of steel to win this game. Thought it wasn’t amazing quality, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Think we looked like Champions today, but there’s a very long way to go. Not even half way yet! We just need to keep the pressure up on Arsenal, and keep an eye on Villa.

The contrast between Pep's behaviour after the game and Dyche's was stark. Dyche accuses us of cheating whilst Pep is effusive about the job that the ginger tosser is doing (that last bit was my words not Peps :-)).

What a lovely Sunday morning - waking up with those 3 points in the bank; everything to play for going into the New Year; not having the ugly, cheating, goggle-eyed, triple-surnamed **** Morgan Gibbs-White in our squad. Thank God that bullet was dodged.

Happy days.

Its beyond belief what players are getting away with. All to ensure Arsenal continue to nick goals from corners.
I think we are late comers to these tactics….if you can’t beat them and all that etc etc. and look at the recent success we have had at corners compared to earlier in the season.

When we are defending corners the opponents are now virtually assaulting Donna….who needs to be stronger.(I’m sure he will with more Premiership experience)

Dyche has his limitations as a Premiership manager, but to be fair he is getting a tune out of Forest but he blames the referee in the majority of games he loses and is certainly no stranger to the dark arts.

I’m not sure how many fouls Jesus won yesterday but the majority were dubious and at best 50/50.

Nico still needs some extra physicality in the middle to help him out and Reeinders goal apart, is still not contributing enough.

What a player ….Cherki !

I would have thought their most egregious breach of public trust would be the fact they actively harboured and knowingly employed a parade of paedophiles over the course of several decades, who were free to abuse at will under the protection of the royal charter - for that alone, the entire concept of the licence fee is both an affront to and a mockery of their victims.

They lost all credibility and legitimacy long before any (comparatively) trifling trump edit, in my book.
Agreed.

Reijnders gives it away frighteningly often. I'm not impressed, so far.

Great win in the end but we have to improve a lot to win the league. First half we were so poor but picked it up in the 2nd and were better. Cherki improves by the game and Nico looked good as well.
Forest fans seemed really giddy today and were a lot noisier than normal, do they not like us?
Got this lot up there with Leeds fans self entitlement and bitterness.
Even had the cheek to sing to us where were you when you were shit !

We are in the retro season so tactics like Dycheball are fashionable again . Very little , if any, critique of park the bus , single striker for the long ball and spoil and foul and whine and dive . Jesus won't be the last to do a number on the ref. When Forest scored on a breakaway from their penalty area the commentators sounded like they'd never seen such a team effort . It was the only time they played football in the game FFS .

Tarquins have set the standard in the last couple of seasons. Arteta has resurrected the ghosts of George Graham and the Portuguese Bus Parker , including the latter's get in early with the pomposity , deflection and finger pointing in the post match . Now every Saturday morning B movie manager is at it . When we win it's because we "cheat" , having bought the ref , which has more traction because we are cheats anyway .

News outlets need clicks not truth so comments go viral within minutes and the supposedly neutral BBC producers are playing catch up on MOTD with the same populist game .

The second most important thing yesterday was to come away without any injuries or red cards. Well done boys for not letting it get to you . Foden and Harland set the tone , targets all day long , and refusing to loose it .

I watched the match on TV with a Forest fan and he was embarrassed by his team's shithousery . MGW is a talent and we could use someone like him to draw fouls, if Rodri would let him in the dressing room , but not yet impressed by Anderson when compared to the quick feet of Gonzales . But perhaps with better coaching .....

We missed Doku , not least for his tracking back , and Phil was wasted on the left but had the game in his pocket when he moved centrally . All in all a solid win and we are looking to be first in a three horse race .
Great analysis. Anyone criticising any of our players performances yesterday should watch the match again. Can't stand teams like Forest who like to be physical out of possession. Then hit the deck when it's not going their way. Yesterday the ref was weak and gullable. Dyce's post match comments should not have been taken seriously. Unfortunately it's the narrative that outlets like the BBC are running with
