Think Henman got disqualified for the same thing at Wimbledon one year.

Anyway.... Novak has got himself defaulted/disqualified from the US Open for striking the ball away in anger after being broken, which resulted in a linesperson being struck in the throat by said ball.
Ridiculous wasn't it, I heard the story earlier and assumed he done it in anger, but all he seems to have done is lob the ball to the back of the court as most tennis players do.
He didn't hit it "pretty firmly" he did what most tennis players do to discard a ball, he wasn't aiming at her, he didn't even look, he hit to the back of the court to get rid, unfortunately hit her, and as described above she went down like bruno at united, nothing in it for me, but you'd argue in an empty room, so carry on, I'm out....she took a tennis ball, hit pretty firmly, to the throat, I'd quite like to see how you'd react!

No, and it's not what I said, I just compared her fall to a footballer.you honestly believe she play acted ?!
Rules say you recklessly hit a ball or chuck a racquet and it hits a spectator or official and you're gone. End of story. Red mist has been part of Djokovic's tennis life for a while. Much prefer Nadal as a player and a person anyway.100% the correct decision

I don't for a minute think he intended to hit her, he wasn't even looking when he hit the ball, he didn't even hit it hard, more a lob, and she just reacted to being hit unexpectedly, I don't think she was looking either, I'm sure she went home unscathed, and had a few G&T's and has "recovered".
To be honest I'm no tennis fan, but pretty much all tennis players do what he he did when I do watch, he didn't do it out of malice, and it's a shame she was hit.

doesn’t matter if it wasn’t intentional, in fact I’d argue it’s worse that it wasn’t because it shows complete recklessness That he’s just fizzed a ball in blind into a area of the court where men, women and kids are trying to do their job.He didn't hit it "pretty firmly" he did what most tennis players do to discard a ball, he wasn't aiming at her, he didn't even look, he hit to the back of the court to get rid, unfortunately hit her, and as described above she went down like bruno at united, nothing in it for me, but you'd argue in an empty room, so carry on, I'm out.
