Why not? I was born in 1982 and know about Meredith Johnson Brook Cowan Swift Doherty Paul Trautmanneast stand needs renaming asap as ''Kippax Street'' and the extension should be the 1894 stand,these names will live on forever,all respect to former players but eventually present day fans will not associate with them.Example if we named a stand in honour of a player from 50 years ago our younger fans we wouldn't know anything about him?
