Now that the dust has settled in the CL stakes....

I think our CL campaign has been derailed to some extent by our league success.

At the start of the season I didnt expect us to win the CL but I thought our style of play was well suited to european football. I expected us to grind out a few 1-0's and 0-0's. Then the league starts and suddenly we're scoring goals for fun.

It seems to me that the 5-1's and 6-1's threw the manager and players into confusion as to how to tackle the CL. We've essentially become stuck in no mans land. Not playing all out attacking football, but not defending in numbers. We were a bit to open against Bayern, a bit hesitant in other games.

for what it's worth I think napoli's over confidence in already thinking it's job done could cost them. Villareal almost got a draw at our place so who knows, it's out of our hands in a way we just need to do our bit beating bayern and without wanting to sound like Terence Trent D'arby but failing miserably
.......it ain't over till it's over!

I'm not optimistic but It ain't over we can still qualify. Im still brooding over Tuesday night. I still cant get my head around what happened out there on the pitch with selection and subs...I need to let it go and move on. We have a fantastic game on Sunday to look forward too. .

When the draw was made, I felt we'd finish third and go into the Europa, but having said that, it was the five minutes after half time when we sat back and let Napoli come at us which was our undoing. I can't believe all the negativity since Tuesday. anyone would think Frank Clark had come back and Jamie Pollock had scored that own goal v QPR again. The Premier League is our priority this season. People forget that the rags, Arse and dippers all struggled to adjust to the demands of the CL at first, and have reaped the benefits of the experience. Liverpool in their first CL campaign dropped into the UEFA Cup and won it v Alaves, so there are precedents.
