They simply HAVE to link something,however tenuous,about perceived "failure" at City being somehow due in part to the rags.

I'm just waiting for them to make up a story about one of Gary Cook's "broken promises" being that we were signing Rooney.

The only actual quotes in that article are

I think it's quite clear that such trivialities don't concern Carlos Tevez that much.
 
What bothers me about this type of bullshit is firstly that any of our fans believe it and secondly how insulting it is to our owners, as if they for one second would allow any of our players especially Carlos to go there. The whole project is to attract and keep the best players in the world to city, not hand them over once we have secured them.
