Oakies Hip Replacement cancelled

Had confirmation yesterday that my intended hip replacement has now been put back from this coming Monday 9th December until 13th January.
Had got myself all psyched up and raring to go and then this.
Still I know its only a five week wait and some poor sods are even sent home on the day of some ops as they don`t have a bed for them after surgery.
The reason given was that I telephoned to ask what time I needed to be in on Monday and they claim I`m not even booked in for that day. I said it was a telecom with the Scheduling Dept but they claim no phone call ever took place. Oh says I. I just plucked an imaginary date out of the air ?
No comment from them about that.
Ah well shit happens I suppose.

I don’t want to put a damper on it Oakie, but a friend of mine was cancelled (bowel op) like this for nearly three years. She now needs a follow up op and is going through the same motions. (No pun intended). Best not to be too optimistic till you’re actually in the theatre.
 
Sorry to hear that oakie. At least you got a new date for the surgery.

I'm trying to book a blood test at the hospital at the moment. The only way to do that is to ring them, and it's either engaged or they never answer. Took me a week of ringing last time. Why can't they just have an app?
 
Sorry to hear that Oakie. Hopefully the new date sticks. I'm waiting on a date for another MRI to see if my bulging and slipped discs in my back have got any worse. Second caudal epidural injection I've had recently didn't relieve any of the pain I have.
 
I was due to have my left knee replaced the weekend of the cup final against utd (the 1st one). As I cancelled it I have still not been given a date for the op

My dad had that done on a local anaesthetic. A guard placed over his chest so he couldn’t see.

Fuck that. If I’m to ever have that done I want to be asleep.
