Oasis or The Roses?

This again? When will people learn that music is not football. Diifferent bands and artists bring different skills and preferences and talents, good musicians jam with eachother too or learn with eachother and thats what makes music such a wonderful thing. Its not about one v another, its about different styles or nuances and tastes. A competition it is not, in fact that concept is probably anathema to such a creative thing

It is a Barm.

given your options Oasis by a mile

the Stone roses are the most over rated band since U2 don't have a single track of theirs and a bunch of rags to boot
for people of a certain age it was seen as trendy to like the roses and lots of people just followed like sheep I never got it

the Arctic Monkeys in Sheffield are a modern day stone roses every one in Sheffield seems obliged to like the Arctic Monkeys even though they are absolute crap

Reni is a city fan...
And the roses for me all day long.
Plus I've heard through a reliable friend of mine they are releasing something soon.
Can't wait.

My two favorite 2 bands(Westlife, The Smiths and The Charlatans would make my top 5) but I can't pick who's better so I put it to you Bluemoon who is better? if you had to live without one who would it be?

To help you choose I've posted my favorite song from each.

Definitely Maybe Oasis

Oasis by miles years ago but nothing better than a bit of Roses in the car to tap along to.

The early Oasis stuff was excellent and a bit 'raw' but as the advertisement said 'Roses grow on you'.

You could say the same for Oasis if honest, I was was 15 when I first heard the roses along with the likes of james , bridewell taxi's, carpets, man from delmonte, cud etc and they all resonated with me, but no one expected me to have to like them and a lot of mates at school/college never even heard of them, Different with Oasis before to get exposure indie bands were limited to snub tv or late night slots on Granada, but when they shot on the scene Sky had just formed and media was becoming 24hr, music channels were now around exposure was greater, I remember first song I heard was shakermaker , but our kid was already into them as was a few mates, but if you said you didn't think much of them you were considered a sad twat and the national media also fed that where it was cool to be an Oasis or Blur fan and expected to be

I like both but roses edge for me simply because even though i have all oasis stuff I can take it or leave it where I still find myself sticking the roses on,

Anyway they both ain't a patch on the Jam or the Kinks
