Amazing how many people forget that offence is in the eye of the person it's aimed at, and nobody else.

eg calling somebody 'fat' can be seriously offensive and bring someone to tears. calling someone else fat gets a laugh.

eg calling someone ginge could hurt someone who's been bullied for it for life. as can calling someone big ears, or even big lips.

there is NO difference between calling someone big ears, big nose, goofy teeth, big lips or ginger. it's an insult about the person's physical appearance.

History can not be used as an argument to 'grade' offence, to say that one kind of physical insult is worse than another because of years of oppression or persecution.

Women have been persecuted more than any other group in history, yet calling a woman a slag is not likely to land you in prison or get you banned from a forum.

Whether a comment is offensive is up to the person it is aimed at and only that person.

Lets think twice before calling people fat, ginger or insulting any other aspect of their physical appearance. And more importantly lets not jump on the bandwagon of outrage when comments YOU deem offensive are made, because they may not be offensive to the person it is aimed at.

You have posted that in exactly the same tone of voice and writing style of Brooklands Blue2.0
Sussed pal. It was the sticking up for ginners that confirmed it. You're not as clever as you think you are young Rockafeller.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being fat, having ginger hair and goofy teeth--------just ask Mick Hucknall.

Im sort of ginger and I could not give a shite what people call me, guess Im just a stong person. Thats why sometimes I give it out to others and expect them to be able to laugh at themselves too.
