Palermo have admitted that Manchester City have made them an offer for talented striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan youngster is hot property and has been linked with a variety of clubs in Italy and abroad.

It was thought that Napoli had made a bid to sign the forward, but President Maurizio Zamparini denied that claim by insisting interest had come from the Premiership.

“There has been no offer tabled from Napoli,” he said. “However, Manchester City and a few Russian sides have come forward.”

Palermo had previously insisted that Cavani was not for sale but a mega-million offer from the Manchester club could test their nerve.

Meanwhile, Zamparini also cooled speculation that a deal for Napoli’s Luca Cigarini has been wrapped up.

“It is far too early to formulate an offer for Cigarini,” he noted. “There is plenty of time remaining.”

You won't see much of him at the WC. He'll be on the bench behind Suarez and Forlan. Still might be a good player, but no one is going to make a huge judgement on him from the WC.

I take it you don't have ESPN and their live Serie A coverage, a few Palermo games were covered and Cavani does look a very good prospect.

Saw a pic of him on Wiki, looks like a young version of that guys with silver teeth in 007.

Will definitely scare the opposition defenders.

Plus on the internet there are certain (illegal) websites were you can watch live football games.......

Palermo is my favourite Italian team so I know the team fairly well :)

No i do have ESPN even though i dislike Italian football i see what on. Palermo are not on that much though, i normally see AC Milan, Juventus or Inter, i know they do the round up. Either way it dont matter you wouldnt of seen him alot. Well maybe alot of highlights but thats the point they dont show you the shit bits
