Official - City end interest in Eto'o [merged]

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Where do people get the Germany trip from, I see nothing on the official site regarding any such trip, could be wrong?

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

IF Eto'o transfer is not being resolved due to the resolution of difficulties with Barcelona then I can understand it, but IF it is because Eto's just wants to see if a "better" offer comes in then I think we should eff him off - he is the one I really want to join us above all the others, he is a true world superstar and the prospect of watching him genuinely excites me - BUT we cannot afford to be buggered about by him IF that is what is happening as we need to be in control of these things - would be nice to know one way or the other

I'm afraid its the way of the world, it doesn't really come down to whether a player wants to play for a club anymore, more a case of where he is advised to play. Its a professional game, and they are expected to be professionals.

Lets be honest, most, if not all these high profile players, especially ones from abroad don't know anything about our history, and if pressed would only be able to name the sky 4 is asked who was in out division. They are expected to play to their potential by being a professional footballer. Therefore I wouldn't be afraid of any player coming, just for the money, as long as they do the business on the pitch.

Everyone should know now that players kissing the shirts etc mean nothing.

I agree with this bit. Realistically there won't be any of the world class players thinking 'My God, it'd be a dream to play for Man City'. I would hope a bit more of them thinking it's a very exciting project with a team that are really gonna be going places. A fresh challenge and all that...

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Looks like Milan officially out of race for him...

Eto'o dear. "Everyone talks with everyone, no point denying it. On the one hand there are companies who are asking the moon and on the other hand there are players who are asking the sun. Eto'o is an important player who asks too much money of engagement. The speranziella no, no. This is the time when we need to balance budgets. Football is like all the companies at this time. "

Translation from this page ....<a class="postlink" href="http://www.puntosport.net/pageview2.php?i=17533&sl=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.puntosport.net/pageview2.php?i=17533&sl=1</a>

Personally, if he's asking that much, there is only one club he's going to.. :-)

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

How nice would it be if we announced a new signing each of the four days left this week.
Tevez tomorrow,
Lescott Wednesday,
Eto'o Thursday,
Terry Friday.

It would be the most amazing week in transfer window history! (I am in no way ITK or claiming this as a prediction by the way, just what I think would be amazing if it were to happen.)

Remember the days before the transfer window? I wonder what our team would be like if there still was no transfer window...
