Would have liked to have seen Petrov in if Robinho wasn't playing.

Can't imagine him hanging around to be a third option on the left.

I just dont think theres a place for him IMO. Petrov offers the same as Robinho in terms of defensive options, he wont track back or he'll do the minimum. If we are in a game where that is less of a problem Robinho will play, when we've got a game like today then I feel Bellamy will play. I really like Petrov and I think he's got the best delivery of the ball in the squad but unfortunately he doesnt offer what we need at times. Having said that I would like to see him given a chance, pre season he was arguably our best player.

you lot make me laugh. tinkering with defensive line ups? it's the same in every game. lescott is the replacement for dunne.

I'm talking about midfield. Playing with two and sometimes three defensive midfielders last season and trying to 'graft' out results never worked. This season he's gone for more attacking flair and it's paid off in every game.

Completely agree with this - We've got enough defensive minded players who are good enough this season without having to bring in players who are better known for their hard work than their quality on the ball but lets see how we do today

If we think about it we dont know who is fit/unfit or doing well in training or what tactics the team are playing so we cant really slag hughes off fornot playing petrov. The tactic might need 3 strikers. Bellamy and Tevez in the same team will be interesting to watch with their pace and we have adebayor.
