That'll do for me. I said a day or two back that I'd take a scrappy 1-0. Apart from the Nugent effort and the Utaka header, Pompey didn't really look like scoring.

They were all over us and if their end product had of been better, we would of lost today.

Why can Webb and these other complete jokes of ref's not get fired? they should be punished.

Complete rubbish!

All over us ffs, what game was you watching?

Great result considering the officials were trying everything they could to deny us.

If we can keep picking up results like that away from home our home form should take care of itself and then it should be happy days.

Not playing Petrov is beyond me. Bellamy is no LM I just don't understand why MH won't play him. He is a better winger than Robinho and is what we need in terms of crosses!!!
Maybe, maybe not. Bellamy has played in both away games so far, which we've won. Last season, we only won two all season; we've equalled that before August is out. Fact (with thanks to Rafa!).

Hopefully the penalty decisions will go in our favour against the gooners or away at the rags at the swamp (no bleedin chance)

Another great performance from SWP Ade Gaz Baz, hope Irelands injury isn't anything other than a knock at least with international break 2 weeks to get them all fit again. Not going to idiot about any individual players we got the right result against hard working pompey side in a ground where we haven't got that many results. Won as many away games as in whole of last season and I am very happy. When was the last time we scored two headed goals from corners in consecutive games, I for the life of me cannot remember.

Glad am not the only one who thought SWP had a good game.

Great three points for us , even though we couldn't get that elusive 2nd goal .

But we coped well against a very physical Portsmouth side , and for that reason alone i'm glad they didn't grab a point from this game , f*ckers got all they deserved ....... mind you Nugent should have buried that late chance of his !

Some good performances ..... Adebayor always a threat , SWP worked hard , Barry played well enough , Richards too before his departure ..... just did enough maybe , but that's all that counts ...... the real test comes in September , and if we've got top four aspirations , then we need to be looking to pick up points from the rags and Arsenal ..... even if it's only two draws!

Not a great performance but 3 points and a clean sheet none-the-less. Hopefully they'll learn from it and be on form for arsenal. I thought Bellamy worked hard but didnt do enough to start infront of robinho next game. 5 wins and 5 clean sheets in a row...Brilliant! Come on city!

Very strong performance again. Barry immense in midfield. Things didnt go our way, Brown kicked Ireland out of the game but this is without doubt a top 6 team and probably top 4. Exciting times.

Given 7 One fabulous save at the end
Richards 7 Back to his best, scored a good 'goal'
Toure 8 Dominant, reads the game brilliantly
Lescott 7 Strong in the air. A quality buy.
Bridge 7 Looks so much fitter than last year
SWP 7 Good showing, hard work, trickery, always dangerous
Ireland 7 Targetted by rat boy Brown, neat and tidy, links well with Barry
Barry 9 Totally dominant in midfield. Times his tackles so well, great passing. Excellent corners.
Bellamy 7 Ran his socks off. Searing pace.
Tevez 8 Not received much mention but a fantastic performance, work rate and skill
Adebayor 8 A real handful. Great header from corner.

Zab/De Jong-Quality from the bench-both 7 fitted in well.

and if we've got top four aspirations , then we need to be looking to pick up points from the rags and Arsenal ..... even if it's only two draws!

I would hope we can beat them, just to show last years result was not a fluke and that we can compete with them for a top four place.
