Fantastic:
Tevez, De Jong, Petrov

Very Good:
Bellers, Zabs, Bridge, Kolo, Given

Good enough:
Barry, Lescott, Shauny.

Good to see Jonno (looked very calm on the ball) and Roque.

He only got a couple of touches, but looked like he knew exactly what he was doing out there. He'll obviously be a little rusty for awhile but it does look like he's loosing the weight and hopefully this last shit year he's had will just be a bump. Honestly I wasn't sure we'd ever see him in a City shirt again but fair play to him, and he's still a young prospect, hopefully he'll get to really show what he can do.

good win, good performance, strolled last half hr. De Jong motm, Bellers, Toure, Zab, Petrov, Bazza, Tevez all looked brilliant tonight, crazy that we still have Vince, Robi, Adebayor to come back.... so exciting. Bring on Villa nxt week.

I will say one thing.

Anyone that wanted Petrov to go in the transfer window, and anyone that didn't want us to sign Bellamy........ you are mad.

Mad as a mad madder maddest mad person can be.

Innit great to be a Blue at this present time though? xx

Given - 6
Zabaleta - 7
Toure - 7
Lescott - 5
Bridge - 6
SWP - 7
Barry - 7
De Jong - 9
Petrov - 8
Tevez - 7
Bellamy - 9

Robinho has got a job on as Ade has to play and Superman's form will return.

Still think we need a world class centre half.

No matter how much I like SI don't think he is guaranteed a place on last season's performances, the squad is big enough to rotate when everyone is fit, players not picked will have to be patient and wait their turn, when they do get the chance they will have to play exceedingly well, Nige is prime example of this, wasn't picked at start of campaign but has played so well you can't drop him, same with Zab. Don't think MH will make any exceptions and it is fair on all players. If you are picked play out of your skin, work hard for the team. If we do that inconsistency in our play will disappear and the results will come.

You have left Robinho out. Was that deliberate?

I left out Robbie because not sure whether he will be fit, if he is, he will be on the Bench at best in place of Sylvinho.

Solid performance but we still need more aerial strength defending set pieces. Few people have commented on their disallowed goal. It was definitely not a foul by Cole but, as the flag was raised before the final scoring pass was made, we could argue that Given or somebody might have stopped it going in. 4-2 would have been a better reflection of play.

competent steady win without reaching any limits, still work to be done on the central defensive partnership but it will come.
de-jong was immense, ratting at its best

a fairly strong performance. good spells of tight passing and some good finish from Tevez as well. Petrov keeps making his case as well, a very good game from him. They had their moments where they threatened but I would say City were never too uncomfortable even at 1 - 1. Bellers with yet another strong game. And good to se RSC get in the game, a good reception for him as well.

onward and upward lads!!

Villa away next week will provide a real test. This is a game we have to prove we can win away if we belong in that top 4 imo. Not beating United away, it's beating a team like Villa away.
