We're now up to 7 defensive players!!! To me that shows MH has no confidence in the team.

could be a 4-4-2 with zaba on the right and ireland on the left, we'll have to see, but it looks like were going for a 0-0 scrap. At least the midfield has a bit of fight and determination.

Seems to me like he's being realistic - we're the softest touch in the league away from home, and the results have reflected this - we clearly need to learn how to defend first when we're playing away - at home is a differenet matter, and I'd be pretty furious if we played a negative line-up like this at Eastlands, but away I can see the logic in it!

If we keep torres quiet then i reckon liverpool will find it hard to score with all the defensive players. I think mark hughes will be looking to attack on the break and use the width because liverpool have always bee noted to play through the middle of the park and in the 3 - 2 defeat at city, in the first half, liverpool didnt look comfortable with our wingers. It is just a pity that Shaun Wright - Phillips is suspended, he could of proven to be really useful.

Exactly and why 5 attacking players on the bench ??? This guy never ceases to amaze me

Throwing countless defensive players at a line up will not make us any more solid. If anything no one will know their job, nothing will stick up front and it will be wave after wave of Liverpool attack. Defending starts from the top, and theres only so much holding up you can do with no more than two players offering support

This line-up gives our fullbacks a bit more protection too, with Mad Zabba covering Richards on the right and Kompany covering Bridge on the left.

Even the most cursory review of our recent goals conceded shows Bridge and Richards have been at fault largely coz they've been left so exposed by the attacking players up front (Bridge in particular!) - this gives em a bit of protection, which they'll need against a team like Liverpool.
