1 - How do you feel your season is going?
Inconsistently! Great at home but poor away. Hopefully into the last 16 in UEFA but shocking in the domestic cups, although we don't have the squad to compete in more than 2 cups... Yet!
2 - Is Mark Hughes the right man to take you forward?
I think he is at the moment and I'd give him at least one more season as we need the stability that's been lacking at the club for 30+ years!. There are many that don't rate him, but they haven't since he arrived because of his rag connections and perceived lack of flair and real success.
3 - Does the money you have mean you can realistically start challenging for the top honours?
Eventually... yes!
4 - Where do you think City and Liverpool will finish in the league this season?
7th and 3rd
5 - Which Liverpool player are you most concerned about?
This weekend... Torres by a mile! He and Gerrard are your only truly world-class players
6 - Which of your team should we be looking out for?
Steven Ireland and hopefully Robinho... Although no doubt Bellers will want to make his mark... FORE!
7 - What do you think the score will be on Sunday?
2-2
8 - Was the bid for Kaka the right thing to do?
It was almost inevitable that we were going to go for at least one "galactico" in the transfer window and I think it had to happen to show the world that we really do have the funds. I'm not disappointed that we did go for him or that we didn't actually get him, as we just aren't at that stage yet to be able to attract the likes of Kaka, especially in January. We'll see how much that's changed in the summer... Robinho was a sign of things to come but his transfer was unusual in that he had to leave Real Madrid but they wouldn't sell to Chelsea and we were in the right place at the right time. Clubs and players can see us coming now...
PS You'd be better off putting giving this it's own "new topic", then you'll get more responses... Whether they'd be more sensible or not is open for debate!
The Liverpool fan who asked these questions posted this on RAWK: read it there last night.

Now are they gonna believe us?
Spyin' Kop - Liverpool v Manchester City ANFIELD 22-02-09 15:00
« on: Yesterday at 09:07:13 PM »
First, I must apologise for the latenes of this. I don't like to point the finger of blame, but Blue Moon and its members (bar a couple) were very unhelpful, which hindered the process. However, thanks to my housemate Josh, I've managed to assemble the following.
More late heroics from our dreamy Spanish striker meant we came back from the south coast with all three points in our last game before the international break and now, having had a week of rest thanks to Everton, our attention turns to the visit of Manchester City. The potentially season-righting victory over Chelsea could very quickly become meaningless if we don’t follow it up with a string of good results to ensure our bad run of form is well and truly behind us. We’re entering the business end of the season where bad results will really start to hurt us, therefore it is hugely important that we get our home form back on track to give ourselves the best possible chance of ending this torturous wait for number 19.
So it is I who has the task of writing the Spyin’ Kop for Man City. What to write? If only they had been a club in complete upheaval, with managerial controversy, off-the-field issues, rumours of unrest, poor results and an unbelievable swoop for Kaka in their recent history, I might have had something to write about. As it stands, I’ve just had to work with what I’ve been given.
Manchester City are undoubtedly the “what the hell?!†story of the decade. All was right with the world as we neared the end of the summer transfer window when all of a sudden all hell broke loose. Before we could punch 4-0-5 into the Sky remote, City had a bottomless pit of money, Real Madrid’s wonderkid and promises of huge things to come. I received a text from a City supporting friend of mine, which read, “I can’t believe it mate, I’m almost in tears. This is unreal!†This remains the most accurate description I have read of the events of that day.
Since then, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow seems to have become a pot of something totally different. Results on the pitch haven’t quite lived up to expectations off it, and our opponents come to Anfield sitting in ninth place on 31 points, having managed to pull themselves out of immediate relegation danger.
The most recent transfer window was a busy one for City. They spent a shed load again, bringing in Nigel De Jong, Shay Given and Reds old-boy Craig Bellamy, however it was who they failed to sign that attracted the most attention. Blackburn continuously knocked back bids for Roque Santa Cruz and an audacious attempt to bring Kaka to Eastlands for silly million pounds fell through as AC fans strongly protested against selling the Brazilian superstar. As well as the new arrivals, there was controversy involving current players, as both Robinho and Micah Richards found themselves on the wrong side of the law.
Our last meeting was a dull affair, with only an amazing comeback, five goals, a red card and a serious injury to show for it. It was a day that got Kopites dreaming again as the Reds staged the kind of comeback usually reserved for Turkey, overturning City’s 2-0 half time lead with an inspired second half performance, capped by wild celebrations as Kuyt bundled home the winner from close range.
Over to Callum Roberts, Paul Cohen, Josh Cohen and bluemoonmatt and ratherdeadthanred from Blue Moon
· So how has your season been going since we last met?
CALLUM: Up and downs as always with City. Some great results (Schalke & Arsenal), some average (Newcastle home), some poor (Blackburn away,Everton home) and the very poor (Forest home, WBA away).
PAUL: The usual ups and down associated with Manchester City, but this time we have greater expectations given the new resources the club has.
JOSH: Up and down, typical rollercoaster style, another great performance today . . . .
BMM: Apart from our away form it could have been decent, we need to start winning away
RDTR: Quite average expected much more.
· Does Mark Hughes have the fans’ backing?
CALLUM: Of the fans I talk to most believe he's doomed...sooner rather than later. I think the general feeling is that we want to give him more time and get the club stabilised, however we've gone backwards this year, in terms of result and style of play, and to most its unacceptable.
PAUL: I can’t truly tell, but from the online message boards, I’d say more are disappointed with him so far (as I am) than are satisfied.
JOSH: Overall I think he does have the fans backing for now. A poll on here still confirmed people were behind him. Although if we don't get very far in the Uefa Cup, I doubt he'll still be manager next season.
BMM: i beleive its 70/30 in Hughes favour
RDTR: Didnt want the red **** in the first place but hes our manager so i will support him
· Robinho seems to have gone off the boil a bit. What’s up with him?
CALLUM: I think it can be put down mainly to injury, he picked up an ankle knock against arsenal, and he hasn't rested properly since then. However he was awesome for Brazil, then poor for us. The long ball game we play all too often obviously doesn't suit him.
PAUL: Possibly a bit disenchanted with how the team in general is doing; possibly an inconsistent performer.
JOSH: I don't think theres anything up with him specifically. His goals to game ratio is still excellent and does create chances. The brazilians don't have the penetrating effect away from home. First class signing though.
BMM: a spurious accusation and the weather possibly
RDTR: Did you not see his display against Italy?
· Why can’t you replicate your home form on the road, where apart from the FA Cup defeat to Forest, you’ve looked quite solid?
CALLUM: Eastlands pitch is wider and longer than most pitches, and teams we have lost to away but battered at home (recently stoke & pompey) play on tight pitches and pressure how creative players. We have no plan B to speak of when we fail to break a team down. Plus Robinho cannot play away from home
PAUL: Because at home we are expected to attack, and we can. Away, our defensive frailties are more exposed.
JOSH: The brazilians havn't seemed to be able to adapt to play away at home, especially at Bolton, Stoke, Portsmouth etc. Unfortunately we've still got all the big guns to play away from home.
BMM: nail head hit, if we can start winning away we will finish 5th or sixth, sadly we wont
RDTR: If only I knew that, Im sure wel improve against you.
· Former Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy joined you last month. How’s he been getting on?
CALLUM: Craig has been good so far. He puts his absolute all into everything and has scored a couple of good goals. I dont think he's what we need as our lone centre forward and he isnt the answer in the long term but hopefully he can stay fit for the rest of the season. He's still a nasty lil charlie uniform november tango tho!
PAUL: he’s not a target man.
JOSH: I've been pleased, wasn't very happy we've signed him, but will always be given out full support. Two great finishes so far.
BMM: I am really happy with him, again its a bit divisive cos some fans expect us to be signing Villa, Tranny etc, most I think are a bit more realistic
RDTR: Quite impressive, certainly better than any forward we have at the moment, (robinhos midfielder before you ask)
· Shay Given was nothing short of heroic against us at St James’ Park on Dec 28 (despite the 5 goals) and he looked in fine form on his debut for you. You must be pleased with that signing?
CALLUM: Class! very happy with that signing! Although Hart is a very good keeper and will be world class in time but Given is a step up in quality. There are very few better imo.
PAUL: He’s long been a great goalkeeper, so a good acquisition. Some fans have said he’s not one to command the area, however, and we do need that. And from an England perspective, it’s a shame Joe Hart is now on the bench.
JOSH: Great signing, if he had been at a bigger club, he'd be known as a 'world class' keeper.
BMM: we are but we must keep hold of Joe Hart
RDTR: Certainly although Big Joe is definetly one for the future
· Which of your players has impressed you most this season?
CALLUM: Steven Ireland obviously, unbelievable improvement. Certainly the most improved player in the Premier League. Pablo Zabaleta and Vincent Kompany have been superb buys. When Nedum Onouha has played he has done well. Robinho has obivously delighted us in an inconsistent way.
PAUL: Stephen Ireland, of course. Vincent Kompany.
JOSH: Ireland, no question. PFA team of the year already. Easy.
BMM: Vincent Kompany
· Anyone not really pulling his weight?
CALLUM: I think Micah Richards is the biggest culprit. His form has dropped considerably. He seems to have lost the spring in his jump, the acceleration and also many basic defending skills. He needs to pull his finger out.
PAUL: Micah Richards
JOSH: Richards. Been very poor.
BMM: It was Elano but now its back to the Alcy who hasnt played(for me anyway)
RDTR: Berti,JOHNSON aka pisshead,Richards, can i include Mills becuase hes just a shower of ....
· Overall, do you like the direction your club is going in? That is to say, potentially sacrificing some tradition in favour of Arab wealth.
CALLUM: If it brings sustained success then yes i am happy. Tradition doesn't die with new found money/success.
PAUL: What tradition? Of not winning anything in 30 years? We are still bringing through young players. If you look at Man United, most of their stars were bought for huge sums, so why can’t City do that?
JOSH: We are happy with the direction city are going because we will get some silverware very soon (after a far too long wait). I'm confident we will retain out 'soul'.
RDTR: No other way any club will ever compete for major major honours, without huge investment, we took a massive load of shite over the years now its our turn to have fun
· It’s no secret that we share our hatred for all things United. You lot must have enjoyed Rafa’s anti-Ferguson press conference as much as we did!
CALLUM: Quality! Well Done Rafa! So True! FACT even!Even if you lot dont win the title atleast a manager had the balls to come out and say what all the others know.
PAUL: No. It just means that Ferguson has succeeded in winding up another opponent.
JOSH: First class from Rafa.
BMM: he was spot on, but it seems to have fired up the rags so was it wise, I think not, however respect to rafa for doing it
RDTR: I hope he makes it regular
· What are your recollections of the first meeting between our sides this season?
CALLUM: A very good performance from us, one of our better performances. You took it to us in the 2nd half and showed us how far we have to to to be honest. Our chances were ruined with Zabaleta's dodgy sending off. Then Hughes didn't change anything, then made a bizarre change. I thought we competed really well.
PAUL: Turning on the radio near the end to hear Liverpool score the winner!
JOSH: City first half - quality, Liverpool - shit. City 2nd half - shit, Liverpool - quality.
BMM: bastard Torres
RDTR: The less we talk about that the better
· Let’s get you out of here with a prediction. What’s the score gonna be?
CALLUM: Not too hopeful for this one. We may get a goal but i think 2/3-1 to youse.
PAUL: 2-1 to Liverpool.
JOSH: 2-2. Bellamy to score.
BMM: 1-0 to your lot
RDTR: 1-0 city, bellamy 65th min
