Official Manchester City Vs. Aston Villa thread.

I like what I am seeing, we should be 2:0 or 3:0 up already, Ireland and SWP had to sitter chances really.

The referee is doing okay I think, but to be honest though Millner should have been sent off for the foul on SWP in the box that lead to the penalty. He denied SWP a clear goal opportunity, that's always a red card.

Also, a horrible HORRIBLE offside decision against Zabaleta in the first half as well, he was 4-5 yards onside when the linesman flagged.

If we keep this up we should win this.

brillaint 1st. anyone would enjoy this regardless if they're into city or not.

Yeah, Ireland marked quite clearly that he wasn't going for that ball at all, and Zab was nowhere near offside, really annoying.

One of the most impressive halves of football from us in a long time. It's almost irritating that we haven't scored from open play because we deserve to have done. Let's hope we don't screw this up because so far we well deserve a win. You can see in that performance the coming together of the type of performance Hughes wants. He wants a high tempo game, enabling us to impose our game on the opposition, with pace and crispness in our passing, and the movement has been good to. My only concern is whether we can maintain that level of performance over 90 minutes as everyone is working so hard.

Singling out a few people...SWP has been absolutely amazing, Nedum is looking world class, so is De Jong. Elano looks like he wants to prove himself and Zab and Ireland looks very hungry too, Ireland should have had a go in his first chance of course but he's looking good. Amazing first half, just hope that those missed chances don't come back to haunt us, but we shouldn't give this away now. Get another goal or two and seal the win, come on!

This.

I am just praying that we will not bottle this, we fully deserve 3 points from what we have shown so far already.

I hope the fact that Ireland and SWP missed absolute sitters won't come back to haunt us.

Attacking play has been amazing, Elano seems to have shown up today! Most exciting first half from Man City in months!

Defence has been stellar with Dunne being a total rock at the back, and Zab is superhuman, De Jong is really impressing me as well! Crunching tackles and silky smooth passing!

Lets see more of the pinball like through balls from Ireland and Elano, slicing Villa open to no end!

Caicedo is just getting better every match. Strong & tough, defenders just couldn't beat him down easily, that what we need for the holder up front. Just let him learn more of his little mates running channels in the real match, he'll pay us back all the pennies + interests that we spent on him.

Excellent first half, same again in the 2nd would no nicely.
That just shows how much we missed swp the last few games, hes a class act.
COME ON CITY!
