Why so? I think Diarra would give us more both offensively and defensively than Elano does right now. I'm not an Elano hater, but Diarra is class.
Elano and Ireland are playing as central midfielders above Kompany, on the verge of being attacking midfielders. Diarra can play good passes, Elano is more about offensive outbursts every tenth minute or so. Diarra is better at holding together the team in the middle, what a good CM does - like Fabregas, Lampard etc.
Diarra hasnt looked a god for portsmuth really
I still think he adds more to our play than Elano does, even though he may not be our answer to top-4 or 6. He's still really young too.
