Official: Raheem Sterling Signs On 5 Year Deal

Our first major signing, in this window. I hope we are successful in completing deals for our remaining 2 main targets.

Welcome to Manchester, Raheem!

For me it is very simple. Everyone talks about buying English players....well the truth is that City have now bought by far the best English player out there. He is the only English player with real flair and dribbling ability. He is the only English player who can scare the likes of Barca/Madrid with his pace and trickery....no other English player comes close.

Finally, you forget the fact that he is only 20 years old and playing with the likes of Aguero and Silva will do wonders for him.

They're taking it well over on RAWK:

"So for me now Sterling didn't play for us. I have eased him. He means nothing to me and I don't wish him well for the future."

"I wish him ill luck. Torn hamstring, ankle fracture, ruptured ACL, anything ...

Good riddance, bad rubbish. Talented but highly toxic and poisonous to the rest of the team."
Quality fans. True sportsmanship.
No less than I would expect.

Sterling showing something in his interview that the ex dipper players and their fans lack - class. He would have been well within his rights to tell them all to go fuck themselves but instead he thanked them for helping his career.I can't wait for the football season and see him Silva and Aguero ripping defences to pieces.

can someone clear up this more english players have won medals at city in the last 5 years thing,i.e how many /breakdown
Johnson - FA Cup, Premier League, Community Shield
Richards - FA Cup, Premier League x 2, Capital One Cup
Hart - FA Cup, Premier League x 2, Capital One Cup, Community Shield
Milner - FA Cup, Premier League x 2, Capital One Cup, Community Shield
Barry - FA Cup, Premier League
Rodwell - Premier League, Capital One Cup
Lescott - FA Cup, Premier League x 2, Capital One Cup
SWP - FA Cup

I think even Wright has a 2013/14 League winners medal. I've probably missed someone or left out an honour for someone if anyone wants to double check.

Just popped onto Facebook to "like" Raheem 's page and I am absolutely appalled by the level of abuse (most of it racist) being levelled at him. Dippers, utter scum.

I loved that. Same as Khaldoon praising Milner. City are so subtle when they take a dig. A few kind words and Liverpool and their horde of bitter has-beens have been made to look like small time.

My dad always taught me that politeness does not cost anything and may actually get you something that money cannot buy.

Hopefully Raheem is learning exactly that via our owners culture within City.

Playing chess rather than spitting vitriol is the most annoying response to attacks that these people can receive. The intelligence of the attackers is limited so they do not understand that being magnanimous in victory is part of the victory not an admission of guilt.

Send that to sky and get city watch to tweet it

Raheem Sterling welcome to Manchester City!
I've been getting so tired of seeing Liverpool/United fans moaning on here.
Our first big signing of hopefully a mega transfer window. Let's party :D

excellent signing oh for anybody that doesn't remember a certain quote from his ex manager

“Raheem has two and a half years left on his deal and he’s not going anywhere in the summer…Liverpool are one of the superpowers of football and if the owners don’t want to sell, they don’t have to.”

comedy gold brenda i bow to you :)
In that scenario Raheem's transfer to us is akin to the Berlin wall coming down.
