*Official* Roberto Mancini Thread [Merged]

Everyone seems a little concerned about the timing, but I for one applaud the owners at making the change now, before the season was lost to another sub 6th finish, it will also give the new manager a little chance to bring in one or two of his players in January.

Well done City, let's all get behind the new man and it will be nice to see the divide between the fans drop and fingers crossed we will get to where we all want to be.

This is an important point. Coming on here to see Hughes in one week and Hughes out the week after was becoming tiresome!

All the best Roberto!

How long until Sven is director of football at City?

Congrats guys, I'm a HUGE mancini fan.

Been following him since he started he's managerial career in italy. Not a single year past by with him that he didn't win a trophy. HE IS A WINNER.

People (in here) say that he plays a boring football but that is simply not true. With lazio the team played an attacking very compatitive football and he won the coppa italia.

I'm pretty certain that he'll be a success in england. He's a great man manager and knows how to motivate he's players. Personaly i "always" rated him higher than Mourinho. You will like him nodoubt.....

Ironically, It was Mancini who wanted Elano.

Both him and Mourinho are linked with Elano at the January 2008 and 2009 window respectively.

With Mancini in charge, what will happen with the likes of Kompany, Dejong, Bellamy, Zabaleta and even Tevez?

Yes it is a bit wrong how the whole affair has gone down, but 2 wins in 11, poor football, today was a win but the game was awful.

As for our owners, if it wasnt for them, then we would be lumbering in the bottom half of the table right now, if not worse. I'll be there on Boxing Day vs Stoke giving Roberto my full support as I have done with the club all my life. Lets move on now, all the best Mark, its a shame it didnt work out.
Agree about the manager, but have to disagree about the game. Brave and exciting football. City were great going forward, but defended poorly. I put that down to changes in players.

Hughes was lucky to be the manager when the takeover happened. I thought he was over-ambitious with his formation and tactics especially away from home, but then we beat Chelsea playing that way so I don't know what to think.

I don't know why Mancini has been out of football so long. Great record at Inter, but achieved in relatively easy circumstances i.e match-fixing

Hope all City fans can get behind the new manager and team. It was strangely quiet today, despite being a great game of football

That's encouraging. I think most City fan are surprised at the timing, and a little under-whelmed with the new manager because he's been out of the game for a while.

He's been left some great players to work with, but he'll have a job sorting the defence out
