"Official Sleeve Partner"

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but I think all of the naysayers are completely missing something here.

Because the Premier League used to be sponsored by Carling, or Barclay's or whoever, every team barring this season always carried a "sleeve sponsorship" - it just so happened they all had the same one.

This season is the first season where no sponsorship appears on the sleeve, as it's the first season the league has not had a sponsor.

So from next season, the PL is allowing each team to have their own "sleeve sponsor" on one sleeve, and keep the clean PL badge on the other.

Every team in the league will have a sleeve sponsor next year I would suspect. The fact that we are the first to announce ours has seemingly upset a few people, but I don't think it's something to worry too much about as all the other clubs will no doubt do the same.

It does look shit though ;-)

Exactly – the women's shirts have Nissan on the back of them too!
I'm not one for too many sponsorships – French shirts look ridiculous!

I thought from next year there was a new league sponsor - Cadbury.

Barcelona have Beko on the sleeves to compliment Qatar Airlines on the front on their shirt. Don't see the problem. If this sponsorship is keeping the cost down on season ticket prices and/or providing Pep with funds then I won't be moaning too much.

Its the future. Best try and deal with it.

Fwiw, doesn't bother me a jot.

When I was living in Melbourne a few years ago, I bought a Melbourne City shirt and theirs have a sponsor on the bottom half of the back panel, below the player's number. We'll probably have them soon too. Our shirts will be plastered with them, like formula one cars. Football is so shit now. If it wasn't an addiction I'd have jacked it in!!

Love the sport, not the game.

I see what you did there.

Exactly. Every club is trying to make as much money as possible. More revenue means, can spend more on players
