Apparently he just had an abysmal season, got bullied and taken the piss out of by forwards at French teams. Sounds like it could be one of those signings of a guy who was linked with all the top clubs but isn't all that. Still think Southampton can be a surprise outfit though, they have loads of potential under Pellegrini's mate Pochettino.

The midfield trio of Dembele-Sandro-Paulinho is a very formidable midfield if they can obtain Paulinho.

If they end up with that team I mentioned they can challenge and it will be 5 teams going for it, but I can't see them winning the league.
Let's not get too carried away here.
Every year people are quick to jump on the various bandwagon's
Some on here would add Liverpool to the list if they signed Rooney and Higuain for arguments sake.
You only have to look at last season and a number of mooners were saying Chelsea were a shoe in for the title after 8 games.
It would be good for the league if there were 5 genuine contenders in the hunt until May 2014 but we know its highly unlikely to happen.
