Feel for Cahill, so much shite around him.

Him and Leckie were superb tonight.

Great effort by a very young and inexperienced Aussie team. They had Chile on the ropes in the second half, after nerves got the better of them in the first 20 minutes.

Once the Aussie defence got organised they looked assured in the second half.

I am quite confident that they will play well against the Dutch. There is no way they will capitulate the way the Spaniards did.

The Matilda's were the best team in the second half. I really enjoyed that game.

Well done to all the Aussie lads with 3/4/5/9/12 caps and Chile look a decent outside bet for a semi final place.

Very enjoyable game that one. Fast paced with both teams intent on attacking. Really enjoyed it. As others have said 3-1 was harsh on the Aussies who gave as good as they got second half.

For future reference the Aussies are the 'Socceroos' and the women's team are the Matilda's ;-)

i am so proud of the socceroos Jason Davison also had a great game imo, the first 15 minutes were painful i thought it was going to be a Spain defensive effort
