Offside rule changed after Cancelo's goal against WBA

In the interest of fairness the rules should not change for the duration of the competition, in this case over the 38 games of the season. Otherwise, the teams that have benefitted from, or fallen foul of the rule prior to it changing will have had an advantage or disadvantaged by said rule change over everything that happens subsequently.

Not sure that the authorities are really that interested in fairness as a concept , but more inclined to reaction when shown that they have been instrumental in creating these issues.

A bit off topic... but it seemed to me that Cancelo may have spotted the flag. He was however playing until the whistle was blown. He gets the ball and with no urgency/pressure, carefully places his shot... perfect.

Most of the time when Cancelo gets scoring chances he seems to be in a rush and just powers through it - often sending the ball over the crossbar. If Cancelo slowed down just a bit I think that his goal scoring might dramatically improve.

On topic - unfortunate that the linesman (lineswoman? linesperson?) raised her flag - but the ref did not blow his whistle to stop play. Nothing wrong with the goal - it's on WBA defenders for not closing down Cancelo.
