City fans had all behind the net & down one side up to the tunnel.

I was only about 14.

Our chairman Franny Lee had his bollocks out in sunny Barbados while we were wet, cold and getting beat, i’ll remember that song for the rest of my life.

I was stood next to the tunnel and after the final whistle, Rosler telling someone to “Fuck Off”
Ppffttt Rude

Silver lining was that i copped off with some land mammal at Altrincham Roller Rink afterwards.
Who was the real loser that day hey Uwe ;-)

Anybody else there and were you the tw@t giving our beloved German striker grief?

Alty roller rink was, I am told, a hotbed of meaningless sexual encounters.

The rink was closed in March 2003, after 43 years, when it was sold by the owners to a property developer. A housing estate now stands on the site of the former rink. The rink's replacement, the Altrincham Ice Dome opened its doors in February 2007. Renamed Plant Ice

That's the ice rink, roller rink was a different place.

Yep, remember it well, the chant was mentioned by the BBC reporter on radio 5 on the way home.

There have only been a few times in our history where mentally I have given us no hope whatsoever of a victory before a game. This was one them, it’s the main thing I remember. We must have been in the middle of a dreadful run. Hope had died.

I was in the home end with a Tykes supporting mate. The locals all pissed themselves when they heard the Barbados chant. Hit the town after the game & they were still singling Arjan de Zeeuw‘s name well into the night.
Tough times.
