I guess I'm one of the minorities who like the signings we made. Clearly shows the club's sensibility yet working around our limitations.

You will find you are in the majority mate,
Really?

Guess there's just too much moaning going on about how we should have had paid crazy money for Hazard and the likes. FFS.

I think the forum might implode upon itself if we were all Spuds fans.

It's a fact of life not just on here, the minority opinion is always loudest, it has to be in order to be heard, most City fans will be content when the window shuts, granted we will all miss De Jong he was a player that we all liked (apart from that guy who had the hatred fixation on him) but such is life we move on, with some young prospects

If we get the 3 others Maicon, Garcia and Nastciwiosqkjaco in we've had an excellent window and not spent too much

Wasn't the start of this thread something along the lines of "something's seriously wrong with our club!".

Now the haze is clearing does the OP still see things this way?

We're signing 6 players on the last day of the transfer window that lasted 4 months, and is already after pre-season training was completed and the season started.

By absolutely no measure is anything that we're doing "sensible"

I am pretty sure that if they could have got them earlier they would have done so, it's not like going out to the shops and picking what you want and going tot he check out, there are chains (like buying a house) other targets, clubs holding out for silly fees etc, etc, in fact it looks like City have played a game of brinkmanship here

And isn't it going mad on dealine day because these players we're in for now weren't our number 1 priorities?
And that we have missed out on our number 1's, probably just because they don't actually want to play for us, which is fair enough.

Sorry if I'm rambling, sneeking on at work, innit.

Exactly, and while working on alternatives wouldn't it make sense to leave them as late as possible on the off chance your original choice suddenly becomes available.

It maybe a risky strategy but it appears to be working out for us today.

It does amaze me that some people seem to think we are involved in a deadline day edition of Dale's Supermarket Sweep.
