Old Trafford Away Tickets

i was under the impression that so long as the adult lead ticket had the requisite points, the accompanying child would automatically qualify regardless of the points they had. is this right?

not for derby's though

ahh right. oh btw operation flag was aborted.

I sent a long email to Danny Wilson (Head of Supporter Experience) on Thursday suggesting how the way the loyalty points system is currently implemented could be improved.

Among my points were the difficulty for groups of people to get tickets together if they are in different points bands, and the lack of information published by the club to indicate at what points level they expect to sell a game out. A lot of people have been left very much in the dark about their Old Trafford ticket chances, with only gossip on here to go on.

He sent me a quick response that I had made a lot of valid points and will give me a ring on Monday, so I'll report back how that goes.

I was able to get a ticket for my son on 2,500 points-ish at the same time as I got my own last week - although only on condition that we were also buying Everton tickets at the same time (which we were). I think the ticket office (not the call centre) do have some discretion on this - and rightly so if there are still thousands of tickets left.

this is quite annoying as my sister currently has an adult ticket because we thought it would sell out before it reaches her points therefore used my uncles ... £30+ of a difference :/

Yeah, sympathise with that. I've had to do the same for the home game using a family member's adult access card with plenty of points on to buy a ticket for a friend's kid who I'm trying to encourage to follow City. He has his own Live4City card and has been to a couple of games with us already but annoyingly only has 50 points so I can't get him one at kids prices.

You do what you have to do.

My lads had a s/t for 4 years, hes 13 and does about 8-10 aways a season. He cant claim extra points that are offered on cup direct schemes as he has no current bank account (over the last 4 years he would of had 600 points for doing this)- but currently does not have enough points for a derby ticket.

Just noticed this, earlier in the thread.

I have two child season tickets, as well as my own adult ticket, and all three are signed up for the cup direct scheme using my bank account to pay for all three. There's nothing stopping you doing this for your lad and getting him those easy loyalty points.

We got ours the other day and the kids didn't have the required points, they will let the you get the kids tickets with an adult that has enough points.

Quite annoying for a 16 year old though, already I have to pay adult prices!

So does one of my lads, he's just turned 16 and has to pay full price and £15 for the last round when students got in for £5.
