Old Vinyl LPs where to sell?

The Vinyl Exchange on Oldham Street are the most deserving of your custom. They're well run and usually give fair prices. I only download now but would happily spend an hour in there looking for stuff.

That sounds a top place.

I just want her to get a fair price for her mams records.

Not sure I'd agree with the notion that they give a fair price as I've been stung by them in the past with limited editions of T-Rex, Prince amongst others

I've had more success on discogs if you can be bothered with the P&P

Thanks for all the advice lads, much appreciated.

We are going to catalogue them next week hopefully and i may post on here what she has and further advice would be welcome

Cheers

As others have said, condition is everything in the record collecting world.

I've collected most of my life and eventually had to start selling just for room. When you know what you have try googling it and with luck you'll get a range of listings from Discogs to Eil (do not deal with them - they will rip you off all the way and sell on for top dollar) to recent (or current) Ebay listings - that way you'll get a good idea of what the item is going for.

If you have indie, punk or sixties vinyl there is a dealer that I have dealt with before who's a decent bloke and gives a fair price but it's important to remember - if you sell to a dealer he has to sell at profit so the best you can expect is 40 - 50% of the value. With that in mind you might have a better shout putting them on Ebay yourself.

Good Luck

I've had two friends work at Vinyl Exchange and both were always very positive about how they operated. You should always get a fair price there. There's no obligation to take their offer either.

Selling privately is the ideal solution but is too time consuming.
