I've moved near Lees/Hartshead and I'm more Manc than most. Lees, Springhead, Grasscroft and Saddleworth are lovely.

They were already in the ground!
Blues climbed up from the terrace running down the side of the pitch and into the seated area above, taking over the seated area. Absolute carnage that day all over the ground except for the away end!

That reminds me of a joke Sir joe used to tell:

A copper caught a group of lads climbing ladders at the swamp.
He told them they had to go back in and watch the rest of the game.

The ladder was inside and used to access other part of the ground and stand ...taken from some building works

From memory the ladder was used to access the TV gantry under the roof of the old Ford Stand

Remember a bus being attacked as well. Somebody threw a scaffolding pole or something through the windscreen whilst it was moving

think the main trouble all started cos the city fans had climbed into the ford stand seats from the paddock using the ladder, then Oldham fans turned up to find hundreds of blues already sat in their seats
