Olivia’s killer guilty - Minimum of 42 years

Its nowt to do with heating bills, those kids havent paid a utility bill in their lives.

It's this kind of attitude where people are providing excuses for unacceptable behaviour, be it ADHD or impoverished childhood etc ect that is partly to blame. Poor parenting and a society of blame culture is a nightmarish combination.

The first few years of my childhood we had no central heating. Both sides of my family grew up in council housing, with an outside loo up until the 1960s. We didn't behave like that, my father would have belted the life out of me.

You earn respect it's not a god given right.

You may have misunderstood me, not for one minute was I saying these kids were doing this because of the energy crisis and rising bills. I'm certainly not excusing their behaviour either. I shared the video as an example of how low society is sinking.

When even a decently paid job isn't enough to pay the bills and buy basic food what then? You can't squeeze blood out of a stone. I grew up with an outside toilet in Hulme. We all slept in one bedroom and had no bathroom. Even when we moved to Wythenshawe with no central heating and double glazing it was fucking freezing in winter. I had ice on the inside of my bedroom window. My dad worked full time and my mum part time. There was no food banks I can think of back then. We could though afford food and to put the gas fire on in the living room and a bottle of paraffin for the heater my dad lit and put on the landing when he got up for work at 5am. This mercifully made it bearable to get up and get ready for school. Soon most families won't be able to afford even these basics.

Your mum and dad could afford that because they didn't waste money on buying you a phone that cost a grand and clothes that you'd need a bank load to buy.

People with children need to grow up and start telling them no.

It will sadly get worse. The video is just one that has been posted but similar goes on up and down the country in small shops and businesses daily. Youths will mob a place, overwhelm the staff and grab what they are going for, mainly drink and cigarettes. Some eventually get caught, the majority don't.

I was on the tram a few weeks ago and it pulled into Sale station. About thirty teenagers, all together, piled on for a few stops. Luckily they were just obnoxious, shouting, swearing, swinging from overhead straps but it was an extremely unpleasant experience. If they had started attacking and/or robbing people we'd have been fucked. The oldest was probably sixteen but the weight of sheer numbers would have overpowered anyone standing up to them and that's before you consider the possibility of weapons. I've been in hotspots all over the world and I'm no mug but my heart rate was going. For anyone less worldly wise it must have been terrifying.
I'd be thinking one of these cunts will be packing a blade..I fucking hate this country, words I thought id never say..sad state of affairs. Got my plan to get the fuck out by 2030

luxury.......sorry couldn't help myself.

SOME kids these days don't give a fuck and expect everything given to them.

If not given they just take it now.

There are still decent kids about and usually they are decent because their parents are.

Let's face it the country has had it.
I'll be glad when I move away

Society is broken and like it or not we need to get a grip of law and order, more police more prisons and solid sentencing powers that are followed through.

If we don't we just get the society we deserve.

bob on. I don’t see a way back. How long till every commercial outlet is serving from behind cages like some inner city off licences. Even if the police catch up with any of these kids there will be nothing more than slapped wrists and a call for social services to get involved. There are of course hundreds of social workers waiting to pick up new cases and I bet Nottingham police have a dozen or so spare officers to look into this.
I predicted several months ago on here that this Autumn would see social unrest on a scale we’ve not seen for decades. I stick by that prediction.

Fair enough. The point is you didn't go out robbing did you. I'm guessing because your dad would have given you a hiding and his dad before him if he did it. You cut your cloth accordingly. I'm not in anyway defending the extortionate energy rises which need to be curtailed. But I am saying that these days many people expect a lot more than they did 40 or 50 yrs or so ago.

Many people ( not all clearly) expect central heating, they expect to have a latest phone, they expect to be able to eat crappy takeaways every week instead of cooking. They expect to be have a few cans of beer etc etc. These are luxuries not essentials.

Without a doubt. Where are you going to go though? Most of the world isn't much better and if it's a European country you now have to pass stringent rules for residency. Our marvellous government being what it is I believe your state pension is frozen once you move abroad which means in a few years inflation would have eaten it up.

For sure. The difference is I wouldn't have done it anyway as it would have brought shame on my parents and I'd have disappointed them. Respect is the key word, we were taught it.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more and why shouldn't people have better lives? Life shouldn't be about just existing, but I understand the point you are making. The problem now is unless you are on 60k+ a year you are really going to struggle.

At 6 grand a year energy bills and food going through the roof neither will they soon.

True, about the respect , not sure about the 60k , would think the majority of people would not struggle on less dependent on their individual circumstances of course.

I seem to remember in a press conference the police reached out to the City’s underworld. Whether it had any impact or not I don’t know. I remember that case. Just awful.
We need to forget about this so called "no grass" concept within these societies , as there no is no doubt someone knows the identity of the shooter. In the Rhys case the police were given information and knew pretty soon who was involved, but proving it in a court of law is another matter

I see a woman stabbed to death in a pub carpark last night trying to break up a fight in Liverpool..terrible night all round
