I like Watkins but I don't think we need him. Striker isn't a position we particularly rotate and the truth is Haaland's going to be our number 1 striker for as long as he's with us, Alvarez is a very good back-up and in the unlikely event of neither of them being available we're capable of playing the false 9 very comfortably.

If Watkins was 5 years younger he might do well to have the patience to sit on the bench and take his occasional chances at a club like ours - learn a lot, contribute to winning some trophies, then either progress to being our starting striker or get a big money move to be the main man somewhere else. But he's in his prime, he deserves to be playing regularly.

Best thing for him is to stay at Villa, especially if they get into the Champions League for next season.

Brilliant finisher, good movement and works hard for the team too. Have liked him for a while but don't think he's somebody we'll ever be interested in. To be fair, Villa be in the CL is around his level (not in a derogatory way) so no real urgency for him to go anywhere.

He's a massive Arsenal fan isn't he? Wouldn't be surprised to see some (lazy) links between them sooner or later.
