He hasn't technically resigned in the season. He's handed his notice in for the end of the season and given the nature of the move been put on gardening leave until then.

Tikki and Omar both went to see Halaand agent and negotiated the deal. Tikki was the main contributor convincing Halaand about the future.

But Omar was not mentioned in Grealish transfer at all. Actually the talk at that time was that chairman himself negotiated with Villa owner because they knew each other. The rest of the deal was pretty straight forward -- compared to other signings because the price was settled. Omar likely did usual paperwork but he was not the main man engineering this transfer. Pep talked to the player and Tikki was mentioned when the deal was done.

Omar was the main man bringing Laporte here though. It made a lot of sense because of his background related to France and Spain.

You know, it is just as plausible, that we unwillingly had to send them our biggest commercial asset (that he now seems to be), in return for the PL clearing us, in the week they hint a date has been set. As it is that he has jumped ship because he knows what's coming or that he agreed 'immunity'.
