Omar Berrada to the rags

There’s got to be some kind of confidentially clause
Sure but they’re ultimately pretty much unenforceable.

He’s serving 6 months gardening leave now, which means City have 6 months head start to secure anyone they might consider he would be interested in bringing over, and advance any CFG & City commercial and transfer deals in the pipeline to close before then.

Ultimately though he will have taken the job to build his own team. He’s not going to want to bring much from City as that would just be seen as an extension of his old team.

Ferran will stay till he retires
Which is most likely why Berrada has felt compelled to leave. The CFG is Sorriano’s baby - he wanted to do it at Barca and wrote extensively about the idea before being allowed to implement it at City.

Unless he decided to step into a ceremonial role, there was likely no progression route for Berrada anytime soon.

Ive had about 20 messages about this guy and 115 and had to come on here to see who he actually is!

Exactly, prolly no progression at city, got a top job at one of the biggest clubs in the world with new exciting owners lol and prolly a hefty pay rise. And he has 100% turned down several offers in the past, good luck to him but city will be fine our structure is still intact

Non news tbh,
1. I doubt United are stupid enough to hire a man who was instrumental in bringing those deals which are in question

2.that also is great for us, most likely nothing will be proven.

Interesting who will replace him?

He works in business. Of course money is a factor. If you think not then more fool you.
He’s C-Suite at a best in class company where money is no issue. Absolutely zero doubt the club would’ve matched any offer given to him.

A lot of these comments are frankly absurd. I get he’s going to a rival but he’s not a Man City fan born and bred in Burnage, he’s an employee who has been a major part of our success for the last 10 years.

He’s probably been offered a boat load of money and a bigger role as a CEO. That’s business. This happens at the C-Level literally all the time in absolutely every industry. The only question is whether he has non-compete clauses but we have no way of knowing what they look like.

City will replace him with somebody who is also vastly competent and experienced, of that I have very little doubt. I would suggest you will see Khaldoon or somebody high up at City come out in the coming days and thank him for his contribution, because that’s the proper way to do things. Not call him a rat and start wildly speculating about his treachery.

Honestly, if I’d worked for a company for nearly 10 years and gave my heart and soul and achieved great things and then saw the fans commenting like they are on this thread I’d probably be thinking I’d made the right decision.

Edit: I see the club statement has thanked him.

sometimes it isnt just about money, he wants the top job, even at a worse company, its still the top job and thats all it is, sometimes if you cant be chief exec at porsche you'll take chief exec at lada

Absolutely would not be the case, City will have a strict salary structure and limits on what was possible within that structure, you can’t just throw unlimited money at every problem. That’s exactly how United have ended up where they are.
