He was hot item at the time and also samaras got me exited until..:)I thought he was a real coup for us at the time. He looked amazing at the Copa America.
Brilliant. Couldn't have said it better.I think some on here should think back to 3 May 1998, then they would have something to moan about. It is great that I read all of the inside information about the fact we only started looking for a midfielder on January 1, and the club should be ashamed of themselves.
Unlike the scum, we don't just pluck some known star that will never gel with the team, and look how they are fairing. The arse manage to buy good players every season, but they are still no closer to winning the title. I have read multiple comments about why didn't we get Rice, what about Sanchez, Fred, De Ligt and rat face were wanted by posters on here, there are a multitude of players gone to those two clubs that many on here lusted over, but I would rather be in our position.
Our club identifies not only quality players, but people who are humble and will totally gel with the squad, which is why they take so long to identify them, and I bet there have been loads that we have passed on. Yes we have had a few like Phillips that fitted in to that role, but he just was not good enough to deliver what Pep expected. Jeez we haven't had many failures under Pep have we.
We have won everything over the past few years, and I will give my club of 54 years a bit of slack, it is know wonder that they have hit the wall after so much success. I am sure that they have people in the pipeline, and are smart enough to keep it under wraps, jeez how many times have we seen the rags gazump us in the past by paying over the odds.
I trust the directors and Pep to identify the right players, jeez he is the best coach in the World. I will accept one bad season, because unlike the rags, it will not be followed by another twelve. I remember clearly 3 May 1998, it was my lowest point as a supporter, I will not take for granted our success, I will not criticize the people who run our club, and I wholeheartedly trust them to deliver.
Pace, physicality and scores goals..... everything we need.Marmoush is fast as well, I’ve seen he’s similar pace wise to Kingsley Coman and Sane
He has never played as a lone striker I honestly don’t know where this one is coming from. Everywhere he played he played in a 2 striker system.Really looking forward to this signing. Arguably been the best player in Bundiesliga. Can play as a lone striker, with and behind another striker, inside forward, power winger, as a 10 and F9 too.
Kinda plays like a combination of Mane and Son.
Marmoush obviously will be a starter. Cambiaso will be useful.Crimbo has come late.
Marmoush
Echeverri
Cambiaso
Khusanov
Reis
We’ll soon knock that out of him. We’ll have him playing sideways and backwards in no time.Pace, physicality and scores goals..... everything we need.
Can I just leave this here to for you all to enjoy. (I am that Chello)
Get the chant going!
Agreed with your whole post but wanted to pick this bit out specifically. Even if Kalvin Phillips didn't have the quality on the pitch in the end, he absolutely did gel with the squad and had the right personality to fit in with the lads. It's why I'll always shake his hand and thank him if I ever bump into him in the future. Every single player in the squad contributed to that treble in one way or another. Some more than others, sure, but they all chipped in - doesn't matter if they were Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, or Sergio Gomez. Even if Phillips only contributed 2%, just by being a smiling face in the dressing room and keeping up the spirits of our other English lads (Walker, Stones, Grealish, etc.), then that 2% could have been the final 2% that pushed us over the line in the end. The players we sign have an influence in the dressing room that we'll never know the full story about. Our club identifies not only quality players, but people who are humble and will totally gel with the squad, which is why they take so long to identify them, and I bet there have been loads that we have passed on. Grealish & McAtee look like the obvious casualties there...So we are going to have the below fighting for 4 positions on a pitch, what happened to small squads? Someone if not 2 must be going, way too many there and all deserve first team football.
Marmoush
Haaland
Foden
KDB
Grealish
Doku
Savinho
Echeverri
Mcatee
Bobb

You gonna eat those words :)Special*ly bad. No serious person considers Doku „special“
Doku is a serious person you know.Special*ly bad. No serious person considers Doku „special“
I think they are all for some point this season. Maybe not the Norwegian kid.Marmoush obviously will be a starter. Cambiaso will be useful.
The others are for the future.
The gaping hole in midfield remains.
I thought the same.
