Omar Marmoush

When those goals come from a completely different style of play to ours, it is a reasonable and valid concern.
I see where you’re coming from but atm I’ve seen it plenty of times where we win the ball back after the other team tries a counter and instead of hitting them on the break when they have less numbers back we just pass it around and let them get their shape back together, I have a feeling marmoush would relish these chances to either run at them with the ball or make off the ball runs to receive the ball

He does look good but in nearly all those plays he has 40 yards of open field ahead of him. We never have that.

I thought that. But then he shows ability that’ll serve him well if he came too - good dribbling in tight areas, pace, clever movement and can actually finish/shoot.

Mahrez excelled in a notoriously counter-attacking side at Leicester then adapted fantastically to us when he joined. Players are more than capable of moulding themselves to different tactics. Usually anyway.

So would Haaland I'm sure. The problem is we rarely seem to actually make use of that. I'm not saying he would be a bad signing, just that I am not as convinced as some that he would have the impact with us that he has had at Frankfurt. If we sign him, then we will find out.

But thats the thing, we didn't start slow....
We almost never start slowly.

Only really the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons where we started slowly. Every other season with Pep - even 2016-17 and this season - we started with long unbeaten or winning runs in most of our opening dozen games at least.

2016-17: by the end of November we’d played 22 games in all comps and lost just 3
2017-18: won 24 of 28 games up until late January
2018-19: took 25 games in all comps until we lost a game
2021-22: lost on the first day at Spurs but then only lost two games in all comps (and a penalty shootout at West Ham) until we lost against Spurs again at the end of Feb, and one of them we’d already qualified in the CL group stage.
2022-23: up to the World Cup we’d won 12 of our fist 16 PL games, after only losing one game until Brentford beat us in the game immediately before the WC, and were unbeaten in all other competitions.
2023-24: won our first seven games in all comps, Rodri got sent off and we lost 3 games, Rodri came back and we won our next six games in all comps.
2024-25: didn’t lose any of our opening 14 games this season in all comps.

He seems to be more of a striker than a winger. If we do sign him as a winger would that also affect Bobbs chances of game time? Or would he play on the left more.
