on 2nd view mario was right

I think there was a whistle or something before he shoots, why else would he argue his case with Mancini and Dzeko ? this whole thing has been blown out of proportion !

Said this last night but to many to quick to judge and listen to the fuckwits who call themselves commentaters without any game understanding There was a whistle/scream this was his reason for fucking about
Whistle or no whistle, flag or no flag he was offside and with the awareness and vision he has as a gifted footballer HE KNEW IT.
That said he's still learning lessons and the backheel was not the right option.

It was only a friendly and I think that Bobby was out of order doing this.
He could and should have waited until half time to sort it out.
This all day long for me - it was a friendly and it was an audacious attempt !
FFS people are still wanking now when they see footage of Pele shooting from the half way line and missing, was he the best player in the world for the attempt or a greedy **** who should have passed it to a team mate in a better position ?

It's a replay, and I think the whistle is from the live sound. ;)

I watched the game live, and every time they did a replay they would actually use the sound of the crowd / pitch in the replays as well. It was different to how they did it here and I definitely noticed it.

What a pass from Silva though!

I watched it live too and the crowd were against Mario. They were even booing him BEFORE he took his penalty.
The know-nothing twats used as commentators actually said that what Mario did during the run-up to his penalty was illegal!!?

What was more galling was when these toss-pot 'jocks' said about Mancini, "You should check out the best goal this guy ever scored. A fantastic back-heel!" or words to that effect.

So two-faced!

If Mario had back-heeled it and there was no offside whistle they would be flogging the YouTube vid over the MLS airwaves for years to come.

Arseholes. There; said my bit.

This is what should have happened:

*Mario does his blunder*

Mancini "What the f..." "Oi Mario! Come here!... What the hell was that all about?"

Balo " Sorry Boss, I thought he'd blown for offside. I swear I heard a whistle"

Mancini "You numptyhead, get back out there and make me proud of you, I want double effort from now on!"

Balo "Ok Boss"

Mancini explains Balo's mistake in the after match interview, all is forgiven.

That's great management, not knee-jerk drama queen behaviour. Mancini messed up but isn't admitting it.

To be fair to the commentators they were referring to mancini's goal that was voted best goal in Italian football. I think it's a corner that comes in and Mancini does a lovely backheel flick thing to score, similar to one Zola scored if I remember. It is work checking out

Mancini was spot on. Friendly or not what he did was wrong. Fans are just as easily entertained when they see a great through ball and the ball hitting the back of the net however that happens.

Some people would still praise Balotelli if they found him shagging their missus.

and some people just love to jump on his back

I'll tell you now! If that was Ronaldo doing that under Baconface he would not off took him off!

At full time when the press would off asked him about it, being disrespectful he would of just said "Ronaldo thought he heard the whistle" and throwing in the press conference as well, that he heard it too(backing up his player) plus how his player was getting dogs abuse on and off the pitch!

I'm no Baconface fan but sometimes Mancini gets it wrong!

Unless Mancini is the wise one knowing we were going to get all this publicity! And any publicity is good Publicity so they say!!.....

All I have done since he did this is stick up for him.

I think we look better when he played and as I have said to people IF he was showboating then he would have had to change the angle and also would not have looked so lethargic about it. Anyone that played football knows that that is the reaction of someone who has STOPPED PLAYING.

I think it should have been sorted out at half time and if anyone barr Mario had done this then nothing would have been said and it would have been a silly mistake.

Of course the mistake is to just finish anyway when so close to the goal and worry afterwards of whether offside or not, but knowing how refs and commentators have a go at him if he was offside they would demand a yellow card anyway.

I bet he feels like he just can't win sometimes.

Personally the body language shown by himto me says that during the game he thought he was offside and then when he was carted off he wasn't letting down that that was the reason. IF he was showboating he would have accepted being subbed and prob been more cocky about it rather than arguing his case ?

Every commentator goes into a game wanting to talk about his petulance and use any excuse to attack the guy. If this had been any other player it would have been laughed off because the game was a friendly and they surely would have talked about the fact that he might have thought he was offside.

You have to remember, Balo wanted to tour a part of Italy and that caused the press to report that he's some big mafia boss. It's front page news when he gets a parking ticket for Pete's sake.

The good news from this is that the only thing he has to combat this shit with is his talent, so scoring 25+ goals this season will be how he decides to shut them up.

If Balotelli was offside and had heard a whistle , then why were Dzeko (who was only a yard or so from Balo) , and Mancini so incensed ?????

Why hadn't they heard the same thing ??

And apparently they weren't the only ones irritated by Balotellis actions on that occasion .......

sometimes you get lost moment and i still think mario stop thinking he was off side and heard a whistle or something

dzeko was running of the ball and make's it easy for him to see the picture
mario had his eyes on the ball
mario will now learn from it good or bad its part of learning and god know what skysports would have made of it if it happen on super sunday in 3D HD

Nah. If you're a good striker and you're not sure whether the whistle's gone or not, you put the ball in the net first and ask questions later.
Still, this whole media reaction is way over the top.

Watched it again last night and actually felt sorry for the lad. He was playing a very good game, and even after the back heel incident he got the ball in their area and was very unselfish in laying it off for Silva when he could probably have had a dig himself.

I think he's a great player personally. Can't wait to see him this season and just hope he stays injury free.

I agree with El Hombre, I definately heard a whistle on my stream and I think it has been a huge over reaction by everybody because of who the player is.

He was having a great game and we looked the worse for it when he was taken off.
