On This Day 6th May 2019:"No Vinny,Don't Shoot"

Twats. Can’t even appreciate an incredible moment from an all time premier league great.
You can't expect someone to be happy if they are brought up with their dad managing the main rival.

Kelly should have been dug out for calling Billy Kee, "Belly" Kee due to his weight then laughing and pretending it was unintentional slip on the C5 Football League Tonight.

It worked a treat and he ended up retiring from the pro game at 28 and working in construction.

It was one of those ‘I was there’ moments on a night of almost unbearable tension at the Etihad.

Vincent Kompany’s stunning long-range goal was enough to put City within one win of the Premier League title.

The captain broke down a dangerous and stubborn Leicester with a shot on 73 minutes to put the Blues within touching distance of defending the crown won in a canter the season before.

My daughter never got to go to many night games due to her living so far away, but this time it was either school hols or a teacher training day, which meant she could ho to only her 2nd night game. She still always goes on about it. I think we could all feel the title slowly slipping away because Leicester were playing a dogged game and we barely had that many chances. Then out of nothing, I seen the big man running at the goal.. and thought 'christ! This is all we need'. Then within a split second there was absolute pandemonium! I was virtually behind the shot and seen it fly in, it was one of the craziest celebrations I've seen, up there with Aguerooo and Gundog. The place just erupted, we went mad, sheer joy! Then agent Iniacho squandered that chance towards the end and all was well with the world. One of them nights when you was just so glad you were there. I miss Vinny.

I can still feel the chill when the goal hit the back of the net, superb goal from our much missed captain.

From where we were sat it looked like it was in slow motion then everyone exploded around us, it was a proper frustrating game until that point.
Looking back you realise it was the last great title winning goal we could all celebrate euphorically together before VAR changed the game forever.
Oh, I dunno. I was lucky enough to be at the Villa game. When that third goal went in, the place went mental. Even in the sedate surroundings of level 2 in the family stand, where I was sat.

Laporte got that one, and then two more we celebrated for good measure. It was the Bob Taylor v Brum equivalent, with the Blackburn away to come when it became real.
