If you’ve not already then please give Once A Blue, the official Manchester City former players association social media platforms a follow and share their details with fellow blues.

Once A Blue - The Manchester City Former Players' Club - Our 'not for profit' club is connecting, supporting and celebrating around 1000 former players, their families, their fans and their wider communities.

They work they are doing is fantastic and are growing all the time, we can help them by following and interacting and I know they have some exciting things lined up going forward.

Any blues on Facebook then give our former players association a follow who are now just over 50 followers short of 4000.

Paul Lake:
"I’m so excited about the relaunch of Manchester City’s Former Players’ Club, which is now known as ‘Once A Blue.’

I’m a proud member of the new Executive Committee – alongside my former team-mates David White, Ian Brightwell, David Brightwell and local businessman Dan Ackerley – and we’re working with our President Joe Corrigan MBE to create the best former players’ club in football.

Our core values are ‘Connect, Support and Celebrate’, and we aim to bring our ex-Blues together, whether they’ve played one game or 600 games.

As well as regular social gatherings, we’ll be organising fundraising events - some linked with City supporters’ clubs - and will be inviting former players to the Etihad Stadium as VIP guests.

We’ll also be offering practical and emotional support to any ex-Blue who requires it. Retiring from football can bring various challenges, as I know only too well myself"

Will this Once a Blue information be going up on MCFC website, anytime soon, because I am not on of those social media sites :0(

Sorry, it’s just my personal choice :0)

I knew a guy years ago who was pleased as punch to be a member of the ex players association. He was in the same bowls club I was a member of.

It was a genuine source of pride for him.

He played one game for the first team in the early 60's, spent the rest of his career in the lower leagues, but was blue through and through and absolutely loved being associated with City.

It is a mistake to be confined to those two sites. You need a website: lots of blues avoid those sites like the plague.
Agreed -I’m willing but not on Facebook and never will be

it's a shame a thread on a worthy cause seems to have descended into a who can claim they hate twatter more competition.

I don't have a facebook account and never wanted one. i have a twitter page not to post but just to follow a handful of sites, official type acts. If you just view your followers every few days you don't even come near any spam russian political bot rubbish *delete where applicable. When musk took over and everyone jumped ship, i kept it just enough to read those and those only. You only get to see the rest if you click on it, if you read your following only you can actually see the once a blue page, and city, and any bands you may like. The top of your account is two tabs, just use "following" and it's just your stuff. I see why people wouldn't, but the high and mighty approach always comes across as weird to me - as if simply looking on twitter will send monkey bots into your brain and trackers feeding you political falsehoods. Not if you just view your few accounts you follow. I doubt once a blue, city official, a couple of city fan sites, the beatles, paul mccartney, and a couple of other bands and shops, oh and the beano for their weekly competition will actually be run by Putin ;) ;)
Is Musk a twat? Yes. Course he is.

I''ve always hated instagram. But when almost every act i like abandoned twitter and used that instead, i gave in and made a blank account where i dont post, i just have people i follow, so i get to see content - just their content - every few days.

I don't get how doing that is worse than doing a big "i won't go on there!!"

Anyway, i have covid and i'm grumpy and only sat up for 15 minutes and have ended up on here, silly me, going to lie down again now ;)

(edit to add the answer is also - never read comments and replies by people on twitter, just read the post by the act that you follow!, as comments are the dregs. Just ignore! Like everyone will with this post on here! But i don't mind, i have a fever and can barely breathe so maybe i'm just spouting shit ;)

Noted :0)

Everyone has their own opinion.

And everyone is free to do what they want to do and make their own choices.

The question/suggestion was raised whether this Once a Blue would be better off putting themselves on the Clubs official website to get more people involved.

As not everyone chooses to use all Social Media platforms.

Personally, I spend too much time on my phone without needing Social Media, which is a whole different subject!!!

Hope you get over the Covid soon :0)
