City should go for andros towsend of Tottenham , London club will listen offers for him for around 10 to 12m. Main advantage English , left foot winger, quick and can play. Oth sides of the pitch.

He's shit...

He's shitter than the shittiest of shit.

Think the only way we will see anyone else is if we ge rid of the players we need to quite quickly...Garcia, Sinclair, Guidetti being the most important to get rid of (you could add Micah to that list but personally Id rather see him stay)

Maybe a loan if all the above happen?

But realistically I think MP thinks we have the squad he wants now. We have strengthened the depth of our defensive players (though Im not happy with Boyata being an option as he is a complete liability and defensively I do not rate Kolorov at all though i can see what he brings attacking wise so understand why we use him)

Attacking wise very little has changed...the fitness of Jovetic is an added bonus and we just need to get Kun up and running at 100% Its a shame we have a glut of very hard fixtures at the start as there wouldnt have been such a need to get him fit and we could ease him back in (this will probably still happen but ideally it would be better to have him 100% available.

If we shold/could add anywhere its a left sided attacking winger type player ....nasri and jovetic tend to attack both from that side but id also like us to have a more traditional left sided player as an option.

Can't see us spending owt more - the squad's looking strong in all areas and, as previously pointed out, it would most likely need to be an u21 or a homegrown player, and I can't think of anyone obvious who would improve us....

If we lose a striker, the leftover cash could be put to use in January. Otherwise, save it until next summer - I think that we're going to need to add a really good CM or two then. Our current options -

Young Bruno (untested)
Fernando, 27
Fernandinho, 29
Yaya, 31
Lampard, 36
With our outgoings we could afford Barkley and leave him at Everton for the season...

I think Barkley's a bit too forward-thinking for the role, he's more of an attacking midfielder in the Nasri/Silva/even Jovetic mould. I was thinking of Pogba (as someone else mentioned), Gundogan, Javi Martinez, Kroos, Strootman, Verratti, etc etc...

Look at his post history...it is a mixture of pure muppetry and delusion

95% of people on this forum could fall into that category

Many posters, myself included, do indulge in wishful thinking at times but usually its either optimism or constructive discussion even if its unlikely. For e.g., someone calculated in this thread (or maybe the net spend one) that we might actually turn out a profit this season if we sell Nasty and have good prices for the other outgoings that might leave us with 50-55 mil euro. Di Maria and Reus were suggested. Unlikely yes, impossible, no.

Contrast it with this:

We need to revamp out team again, like Garcia - 15m Jovetic - 15m Negredo - 22m Yaya - 30 to 35m Sinclair + rodwell + Richard = 20m Nastastic - 10m Total = almost 100m to 110m in from these players Priority signings are (available options) Di Maria - 45m Sanchez - 35m James Rodriguez - 45m Barkley -...

City should go for following options Negredo out shearway in Jovetic out lavezzi in Navas or Milner out Alexis in Garcia out fernando in Rodwell out mascherano in Yaya out Pogba in Nasri out Di Maria in Lescott and nastastic out Garay in Pantillimon out given in Richard out Sagna in Korolov out cole...

Barkely can be a very good CM. He has all the box to box attributes, and with time his passing and creativity may develop. But at the moment he is more of a number 10, in fact I find it is difficult to describe his role except that he seems to operate in the no. 10 position. He might work in a 3 man midfield though (at this moment of his career/development).

If you compare him with Yaya (since Yaya's time at Barca), Yaya's progression was opposite. From a DM and occasional CB he became a holding MF to a proper CM and last season he was more AM than CM. For barkely it seems the progression would be opposite. From someone operating in the #10 role to a proper #8.

Pogba is a really good shout though.

That last post is possibly the worst ever on Blue Moon. And there is some real competition for that accolade. Lets sell at least half a title winning squad? He must play football manager.

Don't often come on the transfer forum, but came on for a quick look see.
Those posts are unbelievable.
I'm getting back to the sanity of the Cellar, pronto!

Some of these posts are frightening.

Pellegrini out Moyes in Zabaleta out Neville in Aguero out Heskey in....In out in out shake it all about.

Would love another attacking midfielder this window as has been suggested, but highly doubt it'll happen. Maybe Txiki will begin talks with Everton for a potential Barkley signing next summer.

The Townsend suggestion made me chuckle... pure transfer muppetry. A winger with 0 assists in all competitions last year... compared to 16 from Jesus Navas (a quality old fashioned winger despite some of the criticism he gets).

Maybe we already have, it might be the reason for the new contract he signed.

Di Maria for pace and Falcao to cover Negrado im going for - one of these has to happen, id be very happy with both.
who we ship out then?

Garcia. That will give us enough money for one of them and then for the other the Sheik has yet to give us the special gift he promised fans when he took over so that would cover the cost of the other one. Gifts are excluded from FPP.

we already needed to move garcia man...we have 18 Non HG at the moment...affter Garcia we'll have 17...so if we need to add another non HG player we need to leave/sell one.

17 foreigners still

Oh right I get you. Ok forget Falcao. Di Maria and someone like Bony from Swansea.
So instead of getting 2 foreign players( Di Maria and falcao) you'd like to get 2 foreign players(Di Maria and bony)so we'd still need to sell 2 foreigners and make about 40m.

We could have got fabregas before chelsea as he was homegrown and we'd have had enough money to get him (rodwell,Garcia and guidetti make us 26m) but it's too late for that now, maybe a few more players sold like Richards and Sinclair and we may be able to get Barkley but Everton will want big money for him
