This may come as quite a surprise, it has done to me anyway, but I'm not that disappointed with today.

Yes we lost, yes it was to United and yes it was in the last minute again but we're in the best position we've been in for 3 decades.

At the end of the day it was one game, and 3, or 1, points lost depending on how you look at it. Personally I think it shows how far we've come that losing to United isn't having the same effect it used to.

We're getting beyond the point where the derby is the biggest game of the season by a long way, we've reached a point where the accumulation of points has become far more important than one game.

I'm not saying 10 years ago we'd have happily lost 36 games a season if we could have beaten United twice but you know what I mean. We're progressing.

The Blue Moon is rising and there's nothing that can stop it (except the Sheikh leaving, please good Sir do not, we love you eternally), not a derby day defeat, not a smug look on Neville's face. We're coming, be it this year or next year that we make the top 4 we will do it, and that will lead to more progress until eventually we reach the top again.

So don't be too disheartened by losing today, we'll just twat 'em next year!

I dont give a toss who we got beat by - yes the rags make it worse - i and no doubt others are utterely pissed off that when we needed to belly up against and win this game at very very least not loose it like every other fookin time in the past we have blown it - this is still the City of old

Look at our main rivals in Spurs - the last two games they have had have been must win games as was United again and guess what - same old City nothing fookin changes - and dont give the "next year shit" we said that last year - personally i think we will end of 6th or 7th - utterley guteed that once again the team have let me down like they have been doing for the last fookin 30 plus

im as devastated as anyone but we CAN still get fourth, we need to be positive and look on to the next game we have. hopefully united do us a favour and beat spurs then if we get anything at the emirates we close the gap with spurs still to play at home its still OURS for the taking

We lost one game against the Champions of England in the dying seconds. 6th or 7th? You must be joking, either that or you really know very little about football.

I know this Villa are going to be very close to us when we play them looking at their next few games and they will be no push over at COM's. There will be fuck all in ponts covering 5th - 6th - 7th amybe 2 or 3 i know lots about football i just dont look at it through blue tinted glasses all the time.

It will all depend on the spurs and villa games, no one could have envisaged spurs beating arsenal and chelsea but they did. If we want to be the fourth best team then we have to prove it in those games, if we dont do it it is because we arent good enough, if we get beat by our main rivals then we dont deserve fourth

At the minute you're looking at it through the opposite to blue tinted glasses. Villa are in poor form and won't cause much of a threat; yes it seems like they've got easy fixtures, but you'd have thought Wolves and Sunderland at home would have been easy for them. Liverpool are still too far behind to cause a problem, especially with a match against Chelsea to come. We may be looking at 5th but that wouldn't be the end of the world, 4th is still in our hands though.

To be honest I thought we were the team most likely to win it.
The wrong final pass was our undoing , United were not as good as some people are making out they were.
For a derby game and all the hype that went with it , it was a total anti climax.
At 92 minutes I was gutted to of only got a point from the game as I think we had the better chances. Given had nothing to do all afternoon so I am baffled why the rags are getting so much credit. Rooney was kept quiet all game and as much as we all feared what he could do if he was on song , he didnt do it.
When I watch us play the rags i am usually on the edge of my seat nervous that they were going to score but they just didnt look like they would.
Then up popped scholes totally unmarked to totally deflate us.

I tell you what though , this season has been awesome. Not just for us but with how the premiership has gone. Last week when we all thought the title was Chelseas and we were securing fourth and now look how its changed in the space of a few hours. Wherever we end up its one of the reasons I love this game the total unpredicactableness of it all.

here here couldnt agree with you more just makes it all the more brilliant when we do beat them cant wait till we do and the united fans will be the ones getting used to this feeling of noooooooooo has that just really happened again or am i dreaming it?

To be honest yes it would have been nice to beat the rags, no it wasn't nice getting beaten by them but I wouldn't have been partying in the street because it was the rags who we beat and pissing all the rags I know off if we had won, I would have just been over the moon with the three points and still being in fourth place. The majority I saw today seem to have been happier with the fact that they beat us and it meant us not being in fourth rather than what it did for them in the league. Really if it was the other way round and a Blue was on here celebrating beating the rags and denting their league hopes then the majority would have replied telling them to get a grip and care more about City than the rags. Puts it into perspective though, we are supposed to be the bitter ones yet even when they beat us they care more about annoying us about it than celebrating the fact that it's helped them in their chances to win the league. Just another reason why it's great being a Blue, I care much more about the team I support doing well, I don't care more about our rivals going through a disappointment.

I'm honestly more disappointed with the fact that the week we lost (regardless of who it was to), Spurs won and got two points above us and went into fourth. Now we have it all to do, we can't afford a loss to Arsenal, can't afford a loss to Aston Villa, can't afford a loss to West Ham and definetly can't afford a loss to Spurs. If we win all of our next few matches and Spurs win all of theirs it all comes down to who wins in us vs. them. We can't screw this up, we've had enough of our fair share of that through the years. Please City! Do this for us! City 'Til I Die!
