I've just read that also, it's a suprisingly good interview from him, I was half expecting the whole diatribe about not doing it properly.

i've been wanting somebody to break the top 4 comfort zone for years, i wanted Villa to do it last year. It's ok for the top four spending money every season knowing that they get £25m tv money+gate reciepts+prize money etc guarenteed each year. I'd love it if another team like Villa, Spuds or Everton got in the top 4 including us, it would really start to ruffle feathers. I had a bit of a arguement on Sunday with a rag, at the end of it i said "admit it your a bit worried" his answer was "nope, lets face it at best you'll finish 4th, it won't bother us" arrogant c**t!

If were not careful, some of these ex-pro's and managers saying we're title challengers, will call us failures if we finish 5/6.But that's this seasons target isn't it?

Excellent. A real football man making a real statement about football and not bullshit.

I know that "realistically" we should be happy to aim for top 4, and "settle" for top 6, but surely aiming for the summit is what actually gets you there!

The no European football factor is going to be very important this season and it will surely be the last one for us for a long time. The time is now Blues and Mark Hughes, Garry Cook and the players all know it's a great chance for them and the whole club...

You know what Martin? I'm excited too!

Bring it on.

I've always had time for O'Neill, ever since I met him back when he played for City. He was just a really nice bloke as I remember. It's good to hear him speaking highly of us.

O'Neill has always been one of the more considered managers when he discusses football.
He is only expressing what most non-united football fans are saying. The shite coming from Bully Baconface and the rag side of the internet is hilarious. They used to ignore us and pat us on the head................w*nkers!
Now they are all over the internet and Sky still talking about us and I can, for the first time in my life as a City fan, smell fear.
O,Neill is also being a bit cute by not raising the expectations of his own board and fans. It's long hand for 5th is success.
