Oneill excited by city's title chances

I wouldn't be in such a rush to laud him for this. It's clearly just another bout of mind games and has ratcheted up the pressure on Hughes and the boys even more.

Through no design of our own, the expectations for us this season have now gone from top 6 to top 4 to title contenders. They're setting us up for a fall and these comments from O'Neil are no different.

The guy's a whining little dick and the rags are welcome to him; I've never wanted him at City and never will.

I think he is actually saying "Don't blame me if we (Villa) come lower than last year - we sold them our best payer, and you won't give me any cash"

This is the top and bottom of it for me , there wil be more and more of them coming out and getting their own excuses in early for them having a poor season, Bent 'Arry has alredy come out and done it, now ONeill, what is the betting it'll be Moyes next.

At least there is a manager that is able to say he is excited about seeing what city might do, unlike certain other managers we could mention.

Well done o'Neill

It can be potrayed as many things. Its either a plot to put more pressure on us or he genuinely believes it.

... or it's a plot to put *less* pressure on *his* squad. still it's wonderful to see other managers (including Jose) making Fergie look like a ranting idiot. no wait, Fergie needs no help...

Nice to read that someone can see our spending for what it really is - pure ambition that provides nothing but competition and excitement for the league. And he's got as much reason to be bitter as anyone - he's lost Barry to us and also faces the possibility of being knocked down another place if we leap-frog them this year. Baconface could do with a lesson in dignity from this sort of character.

Take it with a pinch of salt, it's all part of the mind games putting undue pressure on Hughes and our team before the season has begun. We'll see what happens. Hope the squad don't let it affect them.

Off topic I know, but rememeber last season when O'neill and Wenger had a fight in the tech area when they played each other last season? HILARIOUS!

Does anyone know what that was actually about?

O'Neill would probably be quite chuffed if we did knock arsenal out of the top four.
