Only 2100 tickets for Sunderland away - allocation slashed..

Not sure what they hope to achieve.

Its not as though the 2100 who do go won't stand.

The simple fact is that at the vast majority of games the away fans stand all the way through.

There is only the very odd exception (Chelsea upper tier being the only one that comes to mind)

Would I be right in saying around a thousand go straight away to Superbia members?
No you'd be out by about 970

Bloody hell is that how many took the Superbia package? I thought it was more than that, 30 people that can't be right surely.
25 people took out the superbia membership.

It's 2100 down from what? I've got a liking for Sunderland because of Niall Quinn and now Martin O'Neill (both ex-City) but they're cutting off their nose to spite their face. It's income.

Sunderland always stand at ours! Give 'em the top tier only as a comeback.

As was pointed out earlier this will be a decision by the local Licensing Authority not Sunderland FC so no point moaning at them. I think the rags had their allocation cut last season on the same basis.

Utd have had this cut more than once, think they are down to about 1,300 at Sunderland now - so assume we can expect the same if we persist standing

Yes, I'm pretty sure Sunderland don't make the decision themselves. It does seem that the penalties for persistent standing are, oddly, enforced more strictly for fixtures in the North East though - Sunderland and Middlesbrough in particular.

Sad face :-( The one game I look to at the start of every season and now it will sell out around 6000 points with this scything of the numbers. I don't think it has sold out the past 4 seasons I have been there?

2100 is a ridiculous number for a stadium of their size, and I've never once been told by a steward to sit down in 4 previous visits.

"Nice one, Sunderland!" is the council's catchphrase. "Shame on you, Sunderland!"... Shame.On.YOU!
