Only a yellow card for this....

It's violent conduct, which is a Red Card offence.

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

Just like the girl friend beater at the weekend then, who only received a yellow

You could argue all day long with that one. Some may say it wasn't the last man, you could argue if that is violent too. It's funny as fuck to me but that surely in this day and age is a red?

Funnily enough a goalie can instincly handle the ball outside the area and for some reason English refs give an instant red card even if there is cover at the back. A player does it outside of the box it's a yellow

You can accidentally mis-time a challenge and it looks naughty on the replay it's an instant red but everyone is fine.

Accidental handballs anywhere on the pitch don't seem to count unless it's in the box then the forensic team gets involved.

The beautiful inconsistencies of the game

It's time to introduce the 15 minute sin bin. How can that possible have the same sanction as,say, Rodri kicking the ball away?
Totally agree. If Sin bins were introduced in football. The cheating and cynical tackles would decrease dramatically.

Rugby sometimes give the yellow, review the yellow card and then if its bad. Red Card.

I think for Sin Bin. 5-10 minutes would be ideal for football as the ref has to give more yellow cards than rugby does.
