Only in the USA

The notion that a government can tell private citizens what they can and can't own can be made to sound equally ridiculous. Government serves only at the will of the people. Not the other way around.

I just got back to Texas after a week with my parents in the sleepy little village of Abingdon, Oxfordshire. 76 years old, in a quiet cul de sac, and they have to double lock every door and window and set an alarm if they walk to the corner shop. They can't leave the car outside because some twat will break a window and nick whatever is inside - not maybe, but definitely. It has happened multiple times. I haven't locked my front door in three years, and sleep with the garage door up most nights. If my kids leave a bike on the front lawn, it will be there in the morning. Who is living in the crazy society? I think people should have to license their guns, and pass tests to show that they know how to use them and keep them safely away from kids. But I'm grateful I live somewhere with dramatically lower crime, and where the government knows it can't just get heavy handed and out of control because voters are armed.

My mate took us to the range on Sunday and while we were there there must have been at least 5 or 6 families turn up to shoot. I'm talking mum and dad and a couple of kids here, a few girls mixed in too. The kids were carrying their own weapons! Some of them even had rifles! Most though were carrying locked plastic boxes that their weapons can be transported in. I was watching a lad of about 11 shoot an automatic pistol and when we were in the shop talking with the owner just before we left, he came in with his dad and they were trying 4 or 5 different pistols to get a "better fit in his small hand" !

The small town where I live in Massachusetts has been a ''dry'' town for many decades.
There are 4 'liquor stores' and up until this year, no bars. There was two restaurants that you could drink but only with a meal. Finally the town has let one of them have a bar area and have made plans for a few more alcohol outlets in the town.
But there are two guns shops!!!!! One of them has a sign on the door saying ''children and dogs welcome''.
The other gun shop is based in a car repair garage, you have to walk into the garage to reach the gun section at the side!
haha that describes Worcester MA down to a friggin T !

I'm near Framingham, just off route 9
