Only team not to concede a penalty in the league?

So we're joint 2nd in the most penalties awarded chart?

That's because we attack more than most teams and therefore get the ball in the area more often.

I remember the same argument way back in the 1971-1972 season when Frannie Lee scored 15 penalties for City.

And all in the face of adversity too!

Looking at that Penalty League Table, I can't help feeling sorry for Tottenham, especially with Bale, Defoe and Adebayor in their squad. How come they have never won a single penalty? Obviously waiting for our visit to White Hart Lane.

I suspect they would be near the top of a table for free kicks just outside the box.anyone got a table for that?

It's due to Bale throwing himself to the floor all the time, and him being publicly labelled a "Diver". Sure, other teams have divers too (certain Mr Young of Utd springs to mind) but he's not labelled a diver therefore is awarded everything.

Bale's been booked a few times now for diving. It was the same with Suarez, deemed by the media as a diver therefore never got given anything when he was actually fouled, the boy who cried wolf spings to mind. Seems to be now however that Suarez has actually started to be given pen's.

Another fact (given from OptaJoe earlier today on twitter) - Utd haven't had a red card offence in 59 games since J. Evans was red carded in last seasons Manchester derby. It goes on to say something like "well behaved" or something like that, but we all know the real reasons they've not had to play any game this season with 10 men.

It's no wonder there 15 points clear when they've had no pen's conceded and no red cards to worry about all season... but obviously no, there's no agenda to see Utd achieve another league title.

Surely the more significant stat. is the difference between penalties for and against Chelsea +8, Rags +5, City +4 etc...
(Is it true that you are a rag? many of your posts seem to be putting City down compared to the rags!)

How is it more significant? Being awarded a penalty can affect the game as much as being given one against, so how is it more significant.
The last question is just Zzzzzz.

I am saying it is "more significant" to look at the "net figure", ie how many penalties are given to your own side above those given to the opposition.
I agree both penalty awards are significant and the net figure takes both into account!
I take it from your "Zzzzzz" that you are indeed a rag. I have no problem with that. Living in Manchester I have many friends who are. I just wish Ric would create a field so that other fans could openly admit their allegiance!
